Hard going reading capitals but another well balanced report. Liked the history section. Yes Macc' and Wigan were head and shoulders above the rest of the Northern pack in them days and were some way clear of the rest.

Did Jim and Sol get up close and personal again today like the last time they met? I would imagine it wasn't often Sol met his physical match on the pitch but he did that day!

I believe that Sol signed a blown-up version of the famous photo of himself being hugged by Jim Bentley all those years ago at Christie Park. Good to see he has a sense of humour...
