O/T Microsoft Office 10 re installation HELP

I'm just in the process of buying a new Lenovo V130 i5 core lap top as my existing one has decided to go to sleep..for good!

I want to continue to use my Office 10 programmes and I have the original discs and product keys from when i installed the programme on my existing machine.

Am I correct in assuming that I can use my existing Office programmes / discs by reinstalling on a new lap top?

Failing the above what would fellow SVers suggest as an alternative?

As you've gathered I'm no technical wizard and am pretty clueless when it comes to such matters...some would say the same on footballing matters... ;)

Thanks
Neil

If you have media then it's quite old versions. I'd bin them and go for Office 365 which you can share with family, up to 6 users each with up to 5 devices.

Or, if you have lost all the docs so no commitment to Microsoft, go down the Google route with Google docs and online document tools.

Either are available on PC, phones & tablets.

Open Office: Free and better than Microsoft.

I've used it for years without any problems. Did I mention 'free'???

I've also been advised that Libre Office is an excellent alternative to Microsoft Office and that that is also free to use so I will probably go down the free to use route.

Thanks for those who have offered advice. Most welcome.
