Going by previous experiences on bank holidays when it's Sunny, I can see a lot choosing Beer Gardens and the Seafront, plus with us being Mathematically safe.

Be surprised if we get more than 2750, If the Sun as its Hat on.

1000 home tickets sold in the PMG, 700 regular season tickets, maybe 600-800 terrace tickets and about 150 away fans. 2500+?

I've just done a rough count of home seats sold and I reckon around 1,280 in the PMG.

Maybe 1,000 in the Ace Scaffolding Stand , 300 on the Berlin Wall and 250 Robins.

2,830 is my guess.

Maybe they should have used this game as Community Day rather than the Crawley match as another 800 or so in the Heart Stand would have got us near to a record.

2731 for me, I presume they will count tickets sold whether they turn up or not?

Also, if they had sold out the home terraces I would have expected the away end to be ours.

3000 at a fiver comes nowhere near the value of 1300 at £20

Chorley got 3500 v Stockport for their table topping game. I wouldn't expect us to match that gate but anything less than 2750 would be a sad but possible true reflection of the towns apathy towards our club.

Without having a breakdown on the figures I would guess that Stockport will have taken a 4 figure number of fans to Chorley. Cheltenham will bring circa 150. I think our gates have looked much better this season with around a 30 per cent increase.

I heard that Chorley averaged over 1000 a game in what has been a good season to date under a new manager this season.

Scarboro (my son in law's team) are also getting regular gates over 1000.

I suppose what these gates reflect is winning games and playing attractive football....

Just checked and Stockport took 1,260 to Chorley.

The gates reflect a team winning games. Win home games and your gates go up which is the main message for us.

Not to mention a far better atmosphere, potential for new regulars if the players perform, maybe some ex-regulars coming back, etc. I think the Board have hit the nail on the head with the pricing etc.

I was about to post something similar regarding the season ticket holders , pies , programmes etc etc

A gate of 3,080 tomorrow will take our average league gate to 2,000 and with our final league match being against our favourite Irishman and his team maybe going for the play-offs should mean we finish the season with a 2,000+ average.

I was hoping for something more creative on the pricing structure for next season to entice back lost fans but a freeze is the next best thing.

Chorley in the 6th tier of football, and are still able to charge £12 entry.
Morecambe in the 4th tier, and you can watch a game for £16/17.

Not really. Our average in the last few seasons in the Conference when we were playing attractive, successful football didn't attract record crowds. Even in 2009-10 season, where we had the 'romance' of our last season at Christie Park and finished in the Play Offs, only attracted a 2,262 average. The town and surrounding area still don't fully embrace the club. In Scarborough you have the choice of Leeds (70 miles), Middlesborough (50 miles) or Hull (46 miles). Within 65 miles of Morecambe we have:

Manchester United,
Manchester City,
Liverpool,
Everton,
Tranmere,
Bolton,
Rochdale,
Bury,
Burnley,
Blackburn,
Blackpool,
Preston,
Fleetwood.

13 Football League or Premiership clubs.

Even Leeds, 70 miles from Scarborough, is only 70 miles from Morecambe.

I've been surprised at how many people didn't know about today's ticket offer and entertainment. I still don't think the club is getting the message out properly outside the usual channels. Only this morning on a Morecambe facebook group, someone was asking about what's on in Morecambe today, and there were dozens of replies, none of which mentioned the football, so it's simply not widely known about amongst the "non regulars".

Certainly did. Excellent to see the people of Morecambe turned out to support the club. Let's hope this is the start of the come back from near oblivion. The Board and The Trust are working wonders and the people of the town are responding. Let's hope local support can continue to be nurtured.

Maybe some positive news on the facilities in the Ace Scaffolding Stand would help to feed the feel-good factor around the club at the moment.

Continued performances like yesterday can only be a bonus for our club.

Who knows, it may attract another 500 on match days for us to reach that magical figure of over 2000 per league game which would also show a welcome increase in our average attendance in ALL games over a season.
