Saw one yesterday and very nice too , but sadly won't be getting one as they are not official MFC merchandise. Not a fan of non club merchandise and is there a copyright issue with producing them ??

Yes as I found out when I floated the idea of beach towels.
However thankfully the club took the production on board and proved a commercial success.

2nd this.
Cant see the point, the idea of buying MFC merchandise is to help them out financially.

I would imagine, if the club can find out who's doing it, they could sue.

You temporarily sell your soul to the club when you enter the ground
Copyright exists in every image and the club logo is just another image. It's also trademarked so if someone is caught selling fake goods, it's more than the club that could go after them.

I knew exactly why you mentioned it in the first instance Spuddy , as it's the relation of a well known long standing supporter it maybe needs a word in their ear to stop it before it gets to be a copyright issue !

The person involved made it as a 1 off for a family member and is not selling them. I also know they have approached the club before about making bespoke items for the club shop. No profit has been made as no item was sold.

I know a few people that have ordered one and I was offered one at £12 . As I said before I only buy genuine MFC merchandise and don't want the person who is making them getting into trouble

If that's the case, I apologize, I was going off what I had been told.

It's frightening the amount of fake Morecambe FC merchandise kicking around on eBay and also those pop up adverts you see on Facebook.
Some real horrific hoodies and shirts I see with the crest on. All pirate/counterfeit merchandise and looks sh*t....

I have looked into this matter and spoken to the individual concerned. As far as I can establish at this point, only a very small number have been made for a family member and friends and not for commercial gain. I have invited the person involved to contact our new Commercial Manager to see if we can work together on some ideas for the club shop going forward.

Would be excellent if a fan could get involved in producing merchandise for the club shop. Did see one of the flasks and was very impressed.

Why is it ?
From this thread Rod has contacted the producer with a view to making more for stocking in the Club Shop potentially depending on the outcome of a conversation with the Commercial Manager.

Excellent outcome and if the individual has the ability to print in small volumes on multiple surfaces, good for the club

Excellent result all round, well done Rod, as for Wallers comment Less said the better, beneath contempt.
