Just want to comment on the BT commentary, “Both of these clubs have reached this position the right way, lots of good work in the community and improving the clubs facilities.”
Erm, both have been funded by multi millionaires who have been prepared to pay more wage money than anyone else in the division giving them a distinct advantage.
Is that the right way now in the National League?
Money talks, I realise that, but it’s not always the right way, its necessary, yet not always does you any good, look at Notts County, 3 million budget, relegated.
My point is that neither have much history, and long term the survival at this level or in the league is reliant on the millionaires interest.
Look at Rushden and Diamonds??
Whoever wins can probably out pay us next season, so they will be worthy rivals, I just found it interesting that the media consider it “ the right way”!!

I actually it wasn’t a great time with two fairly plodding sides going about their work. Fylde were very poor. Can see Salford clearing a lot of players out and bringing in a ton more big salaries.

I also think some of the Salford owners will rightly be appalled at being called “millionaires who’ve bought the league”. Lim is a billionaire.

With abundant money seemingly being guaranteed it's easy to see Salford zooming through EFL 2 to continue their ascent. They should also benefit from disgruntled United supporters joining them as in my opinion Uniteds' struggles will only get worse next season.

AFC Fylde on the other hand could see a reversal in fortunes next season and I don't mean for the better. It is just a case of rich boys playing at football club ownership. I have no doubt that they had the biggest playing budget in the league. This sort of thing is very popular around Manchester with Abu Dhabi poised to win the premier league!

Nothing new as we are already well aware of budgets elsewhere that dwarfed ours....BUT maybe next season the gap will not be as big as in previous seasons if Rod and Co are able to get some more local investment to enable JB to bring in his first choice players and not rely on second, third, fourth etc etc etc.

Salford are already talking 'big' about promotion from EFL2 this coming season and that planning for those new players to get them there started 2 months ago and that tomorrow morning the first of the new players will be announced according to BBC news of yesterday's game and beyond.

Sounds as though yet again their financial clout will make all other clubs in our league paupers by comparison.

Oh how i would love it if all their plans came crashing down....but some how can't see it...

No point in moaning about it. It is what it is and I have no doubt that we wouldn't be unhappy if it was our club benefiting from some rich billionaire. Would we brag about what we were going to achieve? Naw!

One things for sure reading other clubs forums Salford£ FC are pretty much despised due to the way they have thrown buckets of money at it when many more traditional clubs are teetering on the brink.8,000 at Wembley yesterday pretty much sums it up, they are still a very small club but with apparently limitless funding. They are going to have 46 Cup Finals next season as i'm sure everyone will be busting a gut to get one over on them

I think that only applied to the Trophy Final this Saturday so will be interesting to see how many go.

Must admit that I think some of our fans would find it difficult to afford 2 trips to Wembley within a week or just over, but whatever the reason for their non show I do feel that it shows what a small fan base they have despite having a good season to date.

Of the two clubs (Salford and Fylde) it is Fylde who are most likely to become the 'next Rushden and Diamonds.'

Salford are owned by 5 well known high-profile ex-Man United players who have no interest in making themselves look like a bunch of prats by all of a sudden pulling out of funding the club like Max Griggs did. Neville etc are very forthright in the media and genuinely seem personally interested in the long term future of the club. Unlike Fylde they benefit from the fact that they are also located in a well populated city that wasn't represented by a professional FL league club as such. Although they did not take many to Wembley there average attendances are sustainable for a FL side.

AFC Fylde on the other hand do not represent a large town and have poor unsustainable attendances (rarely busted over 1500 at home unless a large club with a big away following.) I visited Mill Farm earlier this season ironically against Salford and it very much reminded me of Nene Park and the R&D setup. Excellent facilities etc but a misfit located in a village for a club punching well above its weight, with one sugar-daddy who when he pulls out or gets bored the whole thing will collapse. Also take into account Blackpool fans returning to Bloomfield Road.

Going forward I could see Salford clearly being promoted again, more akin to Fleetwood, whereas Fylde could possibly be stuck where they are unless their owner either injects a huge amount of cash or withdraws, and, more akin to Rushden they dissapear of the face of the earth along with their stadium and facilities.
