Newport or Tranmere?

Newport or Tranmere?

Based purely on the better away support and therefore more pennies into our coffers I would prefer Newport to take the honours this afternoon BUT I suspect that Tranmere will have a wee bit more in their locker than the lads from the edge of the valleys.

I am at Wembley for the game, with the Newport fans as I want them to win.

I reckon our best hope (& even then, a slim one) of keeping hold of Collins is if Newport stay in League Two. If they go up, I think he'd definitely be going there. Stay down and he may feel his career would be best served being first choice with us. So on that basis, I'll go for a Tranmere win.

So how did that work out then?

Aaron was there today with the Newport fans which may or may not be a good omen after all Perks comes to the Globe when his teams aren't playing but he isn't going to be returning.

Aaron will see that Matt and Podge are quite likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Fingers crossed! 40 goals between them this season, they look to have a very good partnership and I doubt it would be an easy one to break up. Azeez and Marsh-Brown aren't bad players either.

Come on Aaron, you know it makes sense to stay!

Kind of my thought process. Being third choice in League One, on a big pay rise is different to being third in the pecking order in League Two on a smaller pay rise. Better to be with us and playing a full season.

Hopefully!
