What a complete waste of time that all was.

For me the only onetalking any sense was Rory Stewart.

The rest and in particular Gove were promising things that they simply can't deliver.

However the alternative is even worse for promising the earth......

What a bloody shambles the country is in.

Thank goodness Our club is showing that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Adam Boulton on All Out Politics Sky News this morning said "My thoughts are, following the quality of the debate last night, that if that's the best we can expect from the next Prime Minister then we are all in trouble" " None of them have got any fresh ideas on Brexit" "Boris Johnson announced fresh tax cuts for low earners in addition to the high earners tax cut pledge last week. Is he just making empty promises to appeal to everyone?"

So which candidate is best for the town of Morecambe?
Here's the psephology of our town according to electoralcaculus.com
From Broadway, north to Bolton Le Sands, we are all mostly Centre Right Conservative voters who mostly voted to Remain in the referendum. South from Lancaster Road Thornton Road we are mostly Labour voters wanting out of the EU.
From what Morecambe needs economically we have enjoyed a lot of EU support money investing in our infrastructure, especially in our wonderful promenade. As we know David Morris personally gave us the Bay Gateway (thanks Dave). There are a lot ofsmall businesses in Morecambe who could do with a bit more support than they are getting. We've made great progress on raising standards in the West End which relies on government support both directly to people and support workers. And finally the Eden Project North. Which Prime Minister candidate is most likely to help that through? These 5 candidates will all have a different effect on Morecambe so we as citizens have an interest in how this goes.

(BTW - don't post here about how Jeremy Corbyn would be best because he is not eligible to stand as a candudate for leader of the Tory Party.)

Yes, I heard that from BJ. That is totally new news, not heard before. Clearly an attempt to put himself forward as not a racist, even though he has often let himself down with his Freudian slips.

Interesting that Jeremy Hunt, in the same debate about being a racist, declared that he had two half Chinese children. Does his Japanese wife know about them?

And previously Sajid Javid has declared he would bring in immigration laws that would mean his own father wouldn't be allowed to settle in this country.

No it isn't from the Magic Money Tree. It must come from British Taxpayers money, with direction from the British Government to meet the EU's policy of investing in "deprived" areas of Europe, of which UK seaside towns is high on the UK's list.

I'm not going to go into whether a Conservative Government, having left of the EU, would see investing in our deprived towns as important, after all Boris Johnson has promised big tax cuts so I can't see that helping Morecambe in future.

I'm not going to go into whether a Conservative Government, having left of the EU, would see investing in our deprived towns as important, after all Boris Johnson has promised big tax cuts so I can't see that helping Morecambe in future.

I think the point is when we have left the EU we can decide if UK politicians have spent OUR money wisely and then kick them out if we don't think they have.

Johnson has already said he will fund the tax cuts to the wealthy from the post-Brexit savings, so he's made it clear, no more money for deprived areas like Morecambe.

Except, Labour's spending was entirely costed. They will clamp down on Amazon, Google, Starbucks etc not paying taxes on UK profits and spend that money on the NHS, education & social care. Unlike Farage & Hunt who have both publicly supported privatisation of the NHS.

As long as Labour's spending is not costed by selling off the National gold reserves at lower than market value as Gordon Brown did. I'd rather have income tax and N.I. rises, and spread the field of who pays.

Johnson has already said he will fund the tax cuts to the wealthy from the post-Brexit savings, so he's made it clear, no more money for deprived areas like Morecambe.

I assume that reduces the £350 million a week he was going to spend on the NHS? Seriously though, whoever wins, especially if it's Doris, he might only have a few weeks in No.10 before a vote of no confidence forces him out, and we either get a coalition government to see us through whatever happens with Brexit, or a general election.

As I understand it several Boris Johnson supporting MPs have been ordered by his campaign manager to vote for Sajid Javid in this round tonight to ensure Rory Stewart finishes last in this round which will eliminate the man he's most worried about.

A very messy debate and only Rory Stewart talked with any realism. I fear it will do him no favours though.
Emily Maitliss was useless as host - just as bad as Andrew Marr. Typical BBC presenters who think the shows are more about them than the content.

Coming from a working class family I always voted Labour, that was until John Smith passed away, everything after that until the present day has been completely toxic and today's shower need exporting.
Right now, I'm lost as to who to vote for in any future elections and truth be known I'm past caring as I wouldn't trust any of them after what they've reduced this country to in 3 years, Begging the EU for anything is as bad as it gets in my book, some folk have very short memories!

They'd get wiped out but not by Labour as they too would be punished for their treachery, I'd love to see a leader (from any party) step up to the plate and be strong enough to end this chaos one way or the other.
Everyone needs closure and an end to this constant mental torment.
