Interesting that we made money from the sale of Paul Mullin from Swindon to Tranmere. Rovers must have paid a fair wedge for him for us to get a decent sell-on fee.

So by that, all Jim can be expected to do is to avoid relegation.

I like the way Jim takes it on the chin, but knows what he's got and how to deal with it. Gives thanks to the people who say this is what you've got, appreciates it and he knows the score.

The agreement with Lancaster Uni must come at a price and as Jim alludes to, is a very important investment. When mentioned on here in previous years it was always talked about as being far too expensive.

Jim seems up beat and it probably is a big stress taken off him by having somewhere to train. Also we've done our business early so he knows what he is working with. Be good if we could sneak another couple of players in. I think we are still a little short in attacking areas.

Ridiculous situation to have to work in , that's like me having to drive my bus in year one for 50k miles , year two for 100k miles and year three for 150k miles and expect it to perform the same and not breakdown.

A bit like Morecambe TT Legend John McGuinness in his early days without a pot to piss in, going to the extremes with no money trying to get fuel to race, but still competeded.

It was the making of him as a rider for when he did get backing with money to race with.

Going off topic, Not a Motor Sport fan but bought this book in Morecambe Arndale for £2, brilliant read especially in the early days for people who went to Sandylands Primary School and Heyham High and grew up playing on the streets around the West End.

Good read, loved the story about the bricky he used to work with saying he’d never make anything of himself, crossing the road in front of John, who pipped at him, in his brand new Porsche!!

Looks as if the club will definitely be on the market at the end of the season which means that we must make an impact this season for anyone 'reputable' to be interested!

Certainly sounds like they've pretty much finished with us.

That said, I'd rather be where we are now than at the start of 2018 or before, when we were in a complete mess. We're still not on a level playing field with League Two but it feels like we're reasonably stable now.

Scary thought when you see the 'sharks' circling when a club is up for sale. Seems that nowadays there are more and more of them.

We just have to put our trust in them and hope they sell us to somebody reputable and just don't take the first offer like PMG did. They have done well so far as Keith says, we are in a better position now but they have clearly just tried to make us look better on paper whilst spending as little as possible.

Maybe a bit naive on my part but I'm still hoping that a local consortium can take over in due course.

We all knew that the current owners where likely to pull out at the end of this season so we / they have time to find a suitable buyer(s) who put the interest of our club first. We can't be too harsh on the current owners 'cause we are told that we are in a better position than when they took us over and until someone comes forward and suggests the opposite with proof to back up his or her claim then we have to accept what we are told no matter how much we may fear the opposite.

At the recent Trust AGM Rod addressed the gathering and mentioned that the Loss in the year to May 31st was likely to have been halved to around £250,000 which if correct suggests that the club is making good progress towards breaking even.

Presumably from sales and sell on clauses from the youth players. I can't see the modest increase in attendances nor the busier match day hospitality having any major impact on the losses. Yes, it'll all help chip away, but if the loss is £250,000 less, then it's other things, such as Sky/EFL monies, player sales/sell on clauses etc. Let's hope the academy/youth set up goes from strength to strength.

Yes, same as what PMG said a few years before he finally went public and announced it was for sale.

It has always been on the market. They never actively wanted the club, it fell in to their laps when PMG pawned the club to raise a few quid. They have made it less of a shit show on paper and now it will be more appealing to potential buyers.

The problem now is if there were any decent potential buyers the first time round that PMG scared off they might not be interested now as the price has gone up. Why would they buy it now knowing what they could have had it for 18 -24 months ago.
