We play a behind closed doors game at Everton this Saturday. I wonder and hope that there may be striker on Everton's books who could benefit from a season long loan deal to help us out what could become a crisis before too long.

"Antony Evans joined Everton's Academy at the age of nine.

Evans, who had previously been at Liverpool, can operate as an attacking midfielder or forward.

He signed scholarship forms at the Club in July 2015 and, after his first appearances for Everton Under-21s late in 2014-15 aged just 16, enjoyed a fruitful season with David Unsworth's side in 2015-16.

He began the following campaign with Everton Under-23s, who would secure the Premier League 2 title, before spending the majority of the second half of the season on loan with Morecambe. He made 14 appearances for the League Two outfit, scoring two goals.

Evans returned to the Blues' Under-23 set-up for 2017-18 and started the season in blistering form, his excellent range of passing, ball-striking and ability to drive at defenders key aspects of the team's attacking arsenal.

His impressive form was recognised with a new contract in February 2018 - keeping him at the Club until June 2020 - while he was also handed the Under-23 captaincy by boss Unsworth.

The player appeared to thrive on the responsibility - with his performance level climbing further still - before a knee injury in March 2019 ended his season. Evans will nevertheless aim to pick up from where he left off at the outset of 2019-20."

Played 1 game for Blackpool last season. I'd have him back, showed glimpses of quality last time

Definitely would have Antony Evans back even if he didn't operate as a forward last time.

I'd expect a couple of loanees to come in close to the start of the season, clearly a position of need for us. Seems similar to the start of last season where we can play nice football and create some half chances, but struggle to create and finish clear chances.

I think with Cole Stockton holding the ball up and laying it off we need a goal grabber like Collins was , a Flemmo replacement is vital with 2 prone to injury and 2 reletively inexperienced leaves us a bit short.

More or less same squad as at the start of last season, and it seems same injury problems!

I thought Jim said he still had two players to bring in , but hopefully that will be three now with Flemmo's untimely retirement. Only a couple of weeks though and not much game time .
