Fixture board

Just gone past the ground----no mention of the Grimsby game---6 days off!
Doesn't really help to get more supporters.

Looks like the upward turn after the new owners came in has died off and we are slipping back in to the sloppy habits of the past. I had high hopes for them but they seem to have done a PMG and taken their eyes off the ball.

Agreed but surely the advertising boards are part of the day to day running of the club and not the concern of the owners. They put a board in place to oversee that sort of thing.

Didn't attendances go up last season?

Just guessing but.. today's Sunday so no-one is in to do the noticeboard; yesterday was teeming rain and it slipped down the to-do list; the previous days and weeks, ground staff have focused on getting the pitch right. I dunno, maybe the team names are late back from the printers. It's not really a doom and gloom scenario is it?

Keeping the Globe Arena board up to date looks like the sort of job a volunteer living locally could do to help the club out. The Skerton Bridge one is a bit harder as it's on the side of a private property and would need ladders for access. Although Shrimps Trust do a good job of photoshopping matchday info onto a picture of it for social media, so it's not completely wasted.

This^.

Some folk are so quick off the mark to criticize and moan at the first opportunity. I assume that the Grimsby match couldn't be advertised on the board until after the Accrington game took place. This wasn't called off till the last minute so not much time has passed since now and then. As Shrimp Girl points out there are a lot of other things for the ground staff to worry about such as getting the pitch bob on for the opening game. They also need the occasional day off. If nothing has changed with the board by say mid week then I too would raise an eyebrow, but come on, give the limited staff we have a break.

When I raised this subject some seasons ago I was informed that a club can't promote a home game until their previous one had been played.

Seems a somewhat silly rule especially at our level where every penny is welcome from both new and existing fans.
