...a superb advert for EFL 2 football second 45 was ruined for me by the mindless, fowl mouthed morons from Salford who showed no respect for the vast majority of fans in their constant use of the 'f' word in their incessant vocal outburst of so called support for their team.

I was proud of the way our fans in the way that they refused to be goaded into a vocal reaction and if money bags Salford never return to the Globe then for me they will not be missed.

As for the game, what a tremendous effort by our team of paupers in comparison to the riches of 'so called' better players who I understand are on an average per player of £4K a week.

For all their riches Salford are nothing special and at best are an average EFL2 side who seem to rely on cheating and feigning injury as well as being masters in the art of diving. Just a pity that the referee was not up to it and confirmed his reputation of dishing out the highest number of both red and yellow cards to date in our league this season. He was putting it bluntly a disgrace to his profession and on a dat when more established referees where available due to the lack of other league football we had to endure his performance that ranks among the worst we've seen to date.. if not the worst.

The Ref was a little bit one sided but as others have said, I think he was right giving the Pens. You have to blame the culprits for poor decision making rather than the Ref. He did annoy me in the way he ran like a show pony though.

I thought Salford looked a good league 2 outfit. Yes they were big and horrible but that is what is needed. The moment we stopped dropping it on the defenders head and started playing around them, they looked limited. I noticed 3 of them arguing over the second pen and quite a bit of falling out at other times as well. Big wages with big egos expecting to win every game is going to cause them problems.

On the Salford website it records number of away fans 628, which if correct makes 2150 home/neutrals. This is a huge improvement on home attendances and hopefully a sign of local people willing to watch local live football when the Prem is off for the weekend. Great that it was an eventful game then, might encourage a few to come back for more.

Our average for the 4 league games so far is a decent 2,215 and 2 of the clubs , Exeter and Cheltenham brought very few.

To be fair foul mouthed supporters aren't unique to Salford.

I sat behind a Morecambe fan yesterday who seemed incapable of saying a sentence without the f word in it who then raised it to the c word at the time of the second penalty

This despite the fact he had a 6 year old sat in the seat behind him.

But!! Foul Language is used in the Dugouts and on the pitch by players, True Story.

Football traditionally is a Working Man's game, And many will argue Chanting like that adds to the match day experience.

I watch Morecambe on my own nowadays and have done for a few years now, and when i have Criac with the Lads in local Pubs or at Work, they often say the Atmophere is crap and it's boring.

We cant and won't survive being just a Family Club, if people get offended with their Kids on the Terracing then go into E Section, Why do people think we have Family sections in Grounds?

I know what people will be thinking reading this, but just look at our poor support, and how busy our Pubs are on Match day, with Football fans not watching Morecambe FC.

Anybody who attends football matches with kids, do so, knowing the situation with regard to the swearing, potential for trouble etc, and tolerate it as part of the match day, as I do myself. That doesn’t mean that they think it is right and acceptable. Without doubt, it keeps some fans away, understandably.

Chanting, singing, shouting, goading does help to create the atmosphere, but doesn’t need to involve too much effing and jeffing. Yes, I am a bit of a fossil now, swear like a trooper, but try to show a bit of respect to those around me,where necessary.

Being in E stand doesn’t seem to make any difference to some, I’ve been there.

As for crap, and boring atmosphere. I’ve been to plenty of upper league games that were just that. Won’t mention the team, or it opens another can of worms.

You can still hear the foul-mouthed chants from the terrace in the E stand!

Well given a choice of the two, I'd rather have crowds of 2500+ every week "SWEARING" than go Bankrupt when the current owner's stop Bank Rolling us.

Being honest, if the stewards starting cracking down on swearing they'd almost certainly get mocked on here.

Like others, I don't mind some swearing as long as it doesn't devolve into derogatory slurs or discrimination. Thankfully that seems rare at Morecambe, even if I have heard it on occasion.
