The Macc players have today been paid their wages for September (couple of weeks late)

They are also in court on the 23rd October regarding yet another winding up order (apparently need to pay 200k to the tax man by next week)

Next week could be a very interesting week for Macclesfield / football league ???

Agreed, hope they get sorted out, don’t want to lose another league club, and Macc being northern and local, always enjoyed going there since the NPL days.

Tempting to say "but if they go, then no relegation this season which is a relief", but you are both absolutely right (in my opinion) in hoping that this doesn't happen.

The bigger picture (if they did get thrown out) is so frightening that it really doesn't bear thinking about. Surely the end of the EFL as we know it ultimately.

Hope it gets sorted for the fans and staff,don't want to see what another north west club get kicked out.

Let's hope that come May we have sorted out our own off field situation with regards to the ownership of our club.

I would have thought my post regarding the 'situation' is self explanatory but to confirm it relates to the potential change of owner(s) come May 2020.

Not really.

I see that despite 'the owners' throwing their support in more with the egg chasing side of their sporting interests, Worcester RUFC are hot favorites to finish bottom of the Premiership League which starts this Saturday.

Just hope that at the end of this whoever ends up as custodian/s of the club are not one of the many shysters who now seem to abound around football. Not too bothered if we are in the National League North, as long as the owners are there for the best interests of the club and we still have a club to follow.

The players have been told that they will not be getting paid tomorrow. Tomorrow is their official pay day.

They must be close to administration or going out of business

Players will start leaving soon as well if they constantly don’t get paid

Very poor, the players have got them to mid table and this is how they are treated.

How would it be if the table stays the same and we are saved by Bury and Macclesfield being expelled

Don’t know how close Macclesfield are to been expelled but all these non payments can’t be good

Some of there fans saying the players should strike !!!

Good thinking. He's done very well since he took over from Sol Campbell.Macclesfield punching well above their weight. Isn't there legislation that says they can walk away from their contracts after a certain period of not being paid?

The Macc Forum on the latest situation of non payment of wages again.....

Macclesfield players are seeking legal advice and looking to cancel their playing contracts after the club have, once again, failed to pay their salaries.

It's the tenth time wages have not been paid on time and the second time this season and players have also complained to the EFL.

A players spokesman has told Sky Sports News: "We have not been paid again and after contacting the EFL we once again feel extremely let down by them after they promised they'd look into it in more detail and didn't realise how serious the matter was.

"It is clear however that they've done neither as an email sent to them 15 days ago has had no response whatsoever.

"The players are now regretfully left with no alternative but to seek legal advice on how to cancel their contracts and find new clubs."

The club appeared in court earlier this month faced with a winding up petition. It was the second time this year after an HMRC petition hearing was adjourned in May over an unpaid sum reported to be £73,000.

However if we did make an approach for a new manager and he resigned from his current club I think that compensation would be due as the manager concerned could be deemed to have broken his contract unless the club agree to cancelling his contract and agree satisfactory compensation from his new club.

I would expect us to see who applies before targeting any individuals.

I think you missed the point of the earlier posts. If the manager isn't paid on time, then he may have grounds for cancelling the contract for that reason. If [huge 'IF'] he was offered the job here, it may be more stable for him?

Personally I'd prefer us to target somebody currently in work but the problem may be could we afford compensation if due

...and what with the title of this thread being "Macclesfield Town" I just made the incorrect assumption that you were talking about the Macclesfield manager rather than just anyone in work. Glad you straightened that out!

Bizarre. Go one strike and miss the game, Macclesfield will be close to going under. Play the game and win and the club may actually have some money to pay them.

I fear Macclesfield won't make the end of the season.
