And some are neither - you know, 'never too high, never too low'...

...and some MPH, show loyalty by attending every home game and not choosing to attend games at another club in preference to MFC.

Mr P,think you should realise the vast majority of fans wanted the change of manager. I can't believe he had the temerity to ask for a new contract. And also can't believe any other club would want him.

I'm sure you have evidence for that claim, so would you share it please?

You have to remember it's "little old Fylde" now and they have not to get too high or too low playing hoof ball that in the video Jim says is a speedy passing game!

Could so easily have been speaking post match about ourselves...
Yes that's exactly what I thought, but you cant expect a person that has been doing a job for years, to walk in to another job and actually change stance or wording, he's still the same person and will no doubt continue the same style of play

This may not be the right thread to post this on, but I do think there's a slight loss of perspective from some people on both sides of the argument. Saying 'the vast majority wanted a change' is a very bold statement with absolutely no viable research of which I am aware to back it up, and although I have, this season, become one of those people, unlike some I don't actually regard this week's developments as fantastic news, as there remains a significant risk that we won't do a well under a new manager. Similarly though, I don't see all the doom and gloom as being a sensible response to Jim's departure. Yes I do appreciate what Jim achieved over the years, but I can't see that every other option we have for a manager is going to see us crash out of the league. Surely it's reasonable to assume there are other managers capable of doing as well or better than Jim, it's just not guaranteed we'll find one. Jim has been a great servant of the club, and I wish him every success, as long as it doesn't come at Morecambe's expense. Formal recognition of his service would be in order, for example renaming the PMG in his honour, but let's please move on, look forward, and support whoever is in charge, including giving them time to turn things around and not expect 3-0 wins every week from now on.

And not expect any immediate increase in attendances either. It took years for so many supporters to slip away and they're not going to come back overnight just because of a change in manager. Tangible improvements on the pitch are essential - the occasional win would be a good start!
The club needs to work in all areas (on and off the pitch) to get attendances to increase, plus they also need to work on other funding streams, i.e. make far more use of the function suites/rooms rather than just the occasional meeting or wedding.
The latter point is what I'm more disappointed about - I really thought the new owners would have been keen to increase the use/profit of the facilities on non match-days, but not seen any improvement/increase in use at all. (Sorry I know I'm going off topic).

Good post Phil, but it wasnt neccessary for Niel to start a new post slagging Jim off, and as for attendances 2003 average so far this season is quite good, better than most in the last decade.

I did say it might not be the right thread Mr P, but it was responding to a build up of comments over the past three days and this was the active thread offering the outlet at the time. As for Neil's comments, I generally agree it wasn't necessary to have a go, especially so soon, but then Neil and I seldom agree on much, apart from the merits of living in St. Orth.

"Mr P,think you should realise the vast majority of fans wanted the change of manager. I can't believe he had the temerity to ask for a new contract. And also can't believe any other club would want him"
"You have to remember it's "little old Fylde" now and they have not to get too high or too low playing hoof ball that in the video Jim says is a speedy passing game!"
I'm saving these and hundreds of other quotes from the last few days. If you're all right that we're going to be better off for Jim going and he'll screw up at Fylde then I will congratulate you all for your powerful insight.
If it goes the other way, then be sure these will coming back to you like Brexit ones, e.g. "the easiest deal ever", "I'd rather be dead in a ditch", etc.

Absolutely, and my hands will be up first. Unfortunately, the get out of jail card is already in place, and we haven’t seen anything yet, if their crystal ball is “clouded.”
Come on the lads. COYS.

These posts are getting silly now. We have gone back and forth, some people have not had their finest moments and others are busy bearing grudges.
Hopefully by 3pm Saturday we can get back to the important stuff and support the team as one.
