Split Squad

Interesting to see that Derek has now split the squad into two groups. One of 21 players that train in the morning and then a second group of 9 players who he wants to leave the club that train in the afternoon. Tutte and Buxton will obviously be part of the 9 but I wonder who the others are? Probably most of the young players I'd imagine.

I'll have a guess at who is in the 9 squad....

Tutte, Buxton, Miller, Howard, Hawley, Oates, Jagne  , Bakare  Lynch

Just wonder if DA sees no future in having a youth policy and by doing so is able to use the savings to pay for better squad players.

Or he just thinks those players aren't very good.

He was quick to promote Carlos into the first team so I wouldn't go as far as saying he doesn't see any future in youth players. If they are good enough, he'll play them.

Whatever the reasoning, it HAS to prove to be the right decision,at this stage. KTF.

It's basic 'divide and rule'
Good on the man for stomping out any dressing room disharmony and channelling his energy for the sole purpose of keeping the club up.

Tutte and Buxton have been announced as being available

Bakare would be part of the 2nd training session due to him being on loan at semi pro club who won't train full time. Would Brownsword also be in that category?

Jagne, Howard, Lynch & Hawley - I've not seen much of them play, but I presume they are the ones on the list available for loan.

Miller is on loan for the full season isn't he?, so unless Crewe agree for him to go back, what are our options?

Oates I thought was injured, or coming back from injury? I quite like him and I hope he can get his name in the running for the 1st team under Derek when fully fit.

I'd assume that it was to advertise him to any other clubs who may be interested in taking him instead? Otherwise he's with us unless Crewe say otherwise.

Thought Howard & Hawley played in the 3-0 win for the reserves against Blackpool. Howard seems a good prospect but not yet given a chance in the first team but on the bench.

Can not help but be impressed with DA's management. Clearly he has had a look at and assessed the squad. He has seen what we need and what we don't need and rectified it. What is the point in having players that aren't in the squad training with the ones that are? Bad attitudes and negativity spread like a virus.

Can’t disagree with most of that, but what we need is points, and fast. Then we can all start to be impressed. Signs are good though for them coming.

He must have left the club when his short term deal expired but there has been no word from the club. Joe Lynch had his departure announced after hardly featuring but there has been nothing about Lewis. Like many, I expect him to move down the coast.
