We're just blessed that DA's come to Morecambe then, to perform a miracle. And he must have good contacts in high places :) I really like his no-nonsense, open and honest attitude and positive outlook. COYS!!

" puritanical principle"

That describes him perfectly.

I still can't tell if he enjoys his job or gets any pleasure from it he is so serious it's more like how I feel about my 9-5 you go do the job but do you actually enjoy it.

You would love us no snatch a late win one week and he comes running onto the pitch going mental

When you look at his record , you have to say our board have done well to appoint him as our manager.

Speaks volumes that he turned down Hearts because he had shaken hands on our deal.

He definitely isn't too high when we win or never too low when we lose. ;) ;) ;) ;)

I think we are very fortunate to have secured his services and his profile is spot on for what we need.At Morecambe he will get the time and support he will need to turn us around. In general the supporters at Morecambe are realistic and very savvy about our limitations. In view of that we have patience above and beyond the 'Billy Big Bollocks' teams, of which there are many, who call for the managers head as soon as they aren't winning week in week out.

I was really impressed on Saturday that the crowd in the Ace Scaffolding gave the team a standing ovation at the end for a tremendous second half performance. The football is by and large enjoyable again! A great achievement for a man who's only been here for a short period.

I would perhaps hesitate to say that the real 'feel good feeling' of the early 2000's is back but the potential is there and we seem to be moving in the right direction again. It's still squeaky bum time regarding the league position but hopefully we can improve that in weeks to come.

I am excited about the future under DA. We are going to stay up this season and the next 2 under him will see us becoming a bit of a League 2 force. I was watching Watford today and everybody was praising the noticable impact Nigel Pearson has had there. The way the team looks more organised and better coached. It is exactly the same at Morecambe.

Good read that, he certainly showed passion after the incorrect throw in decision. I wonder if he uses a hair dryer or plastic cups behind closed doors .

A couple of wins will do us the world of good, starting Tuesday!
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Interesting read. Pretty much the profile of any upcoming young player/manager, apart from the religious reference.
I hope he continues to prove himself at Morecambe, as he has so far, but I personally don’t do “The King and his Magic Coat” thing, based on historical info. All that counts is Morecambe, and a successful future. He is doing a job for us so far, must start getting points soon though. The signs are good.
Let’s start with Vale. COYS.

I agree with Slanester, early days yet and its a results driven business and we have yet to see much of an improvement, as soon as I saw the religious reference my heart sank TBH as I personally think all religion is irrational and naive.

Know what your saying with the religion bit, straight away I thought Glen Hoddle and that faith Healer Irene Drury or what ever her name was.

But feel under Jim we’d be at least 3 points worse off and further adrift by now, no way would Jim have comeback to beat Newport at home by making “2 substitutions” and change of formation at H/T.

Fair comments Andy, and your opinion, but if the results we have had so far under DA, were under JB, he would be getting “slagged off,” by many, regardless of playing style. I support the man, the team, and all that is happening though 100%, as ever, and continue to have total faith, but we NEED to start winning. The pressure switch goes up a notch after every game that we don’t.
Enjoy 3 points tomorrow.

But the two heavy defeats have been to having only 10 men, with silly red cards

And the rest of the defeats under Derek Adams and been very narrow with us looking more organised and pressing teams harder without the ball.

Badly needs a win and tomorrow night should present that opportunity, if both results go the right way, they'll at last be some daylight ;)

Oh yes, can’t argue, and no wish to, with regard any of that Andy D, but I stand by what I said.
I really enjoy going to the games, and supporting the “new,” just as I did the “old.”

The rot had set in and it was never going to happen over night. You can not argue about the difference in performances under DA, it is chalk and cheese. It sticks in some peoples throats but the only way is up under DA. As for Religion, who cares? Up to him what he believes in and none of our concern. A bit disrespectful to criticise the mans beliefs. One thing is for sure, I worship at the Church Of Derek now.

The general tone of this profile suggests that D.A. does not show a great deal of emotion and is not the sort of manager to run on the pitch and embrace his players after a great performance.

Up until Tuesday night I would agree with that.

However watch the end of the Walsall match on "highlights" and D.A. is out on the pitch with a big smile on his face and shaking players hands, patting them on the back etc. Also noticeable that in his post-match interview he praised Phillips for joining in the celebrations after the second goal, and the bench in general for being "involved" and "supportive".

So, maybe our new manager will be exhibiting his passionate side (football-wise) as we start our rise up the table!! :D :D :D

I think he is slowly warming to us and finally understanding what Morecambe is all about.

I believe that his previous clubs were very different they didn't have that family feel and the close knit community like we do.

If you have witnessed how DA reacts to a bad call from the 4th official you'd be left in no doubt his passion for the club he manages.

He's not JB who was probably unique in his close relationship with fans and players alike.

I continue to be more and more impressed with Derek Adams each week
His style may appear reserved and no-nonsense professional - a la Ferguson - however don’t be fooled

As stated above it takes a while to adapt to any new surroundings for managers & players alike but after 3 months the green shoots of recovery are now very evident and though we will no doubt lose games in the next 3 months our style has improved considerably as team-mates continue to gel and better results will arrive

As for DAs passion, don’t be fooled. Ask the 4th official who had the temerity to actually swear at DA recently Resulting in almost 60 seconds of solid ‘hairdryer’ treatment from DA - loved it !

If DA has only a fraction of the success that Fergie had then he's done what we all wanted and that is to re-build our club on the field and a return of a team worthy of the shirt.

I agree with all that Steve.

Managers at any level have a "Shelf Life" when after a period of time players stop listening to the manager and I think the players here had stopped listening to Jim.

It was the right time for a change of manager and Jim deserves to have a legacy to be respected now that he has moved on and if as seems likely Derek preserves our EFL status then that will be a big step towards this.

I love how Derek has brought new life to the club. I thought it would take a while for him to change things but it was immediate. He has strengthened where we needed to be strengthened and has brought organisation in to the team. His interviews are informative and positive. He is a proper Manager and I look forward to going to games again. I hope we can keep hold of him.

Agreed again. Yes he pretty soon got to grips with what needed to be done and has got on with it.

He turned down Hearts after we agreed terms with him so that showed he has the right character and is not just after a bigger payday.
