Yes i would certainly say the new lads Derek brought in saved our skins....

Walsall away was a real memory for me, seems in the distant past now

I hate to break it, but you’re all wrong. These accounts are only up to 31st May 2019, months before Derek even contemplated the Morecambe job.

What this says to me is that Jim got a budget increase of £150K, despite him claiming his budget was decreasing year on year.

On another note, we received around £104K from player sales in the 2018/19 year, compared to nothing in the 2017/18 year - likely to be from Jason Oswell and Leif Davis among others, great bit of business by the lads there!

Also, the club made an overall loss of £566K (2018/19) compared to £452K in the previous financial year (2017/18). The fact that we got knocked-out at the earliest stage in every cup competition didn’t help this! And the increased playing budget is obviously a key component of this larger loss. It’ll be very interesting to see what budget Derek has had when we get this season’s accounts this time next year!

Presumably these accounts are pre the appointment of the new commercial manager.

Corporate Income down from £114k to £59k.

Yes Martin really "ramped" it up this last 12 months, but obviously the last 3 months will be decimating and it is nowhere finished yet

Proof of an increased playing budget? That can't be true, it doesn't fit the agenda. You will be telling us that 5g masts will turn us all in to liquid next!

The next set of accounts for the later part of 2019 and the early part of 2020 will show another increase in players wages I suspect due to the additional players brought in by DA.

Whilst there will be an increase (I suspect ) the benefit of a new manager bringing in his chosen ones has basically saved us from certain relegation.

Not a pleasant thought but had JB not jumped ship due to the owners not being prepared to offer him a renewed contract I dread to think of what the future may have held.

Everything worked out ok in the end, staying up was paramount and Derek achieved it,
Looking forward to seeing more of his good work over a full season, whenever that might be???

Number of playing and management staff rose from 41 to 49, so average wage fell from £49k to £44k.

I'm assuming this is Ritchie Bennett, Aaron Collins, Piero Mingoia and the great battle for survival. Implies that budget was lower at the start and then grew as the season went on when we realised we just weren't good enough.

The drop in corporate income shows the strategy of bringing in people from outside, getting rid of them and then falling back on a poor replacement cost us about £60k.

Indeed and I would guess the next few weeks and months will be a real challenge
