Bolton Wanderers have sacked manager and former Shrimp's player Keith Hill along with his assistant.

Took over at Bolton when things were poor but wasn't able to save them from relegation thanks to the points deduction that made his job of EFL1 league survival very difficult.

:( :( :(

He seems to be one of those managers that only seems to do well at one club , Rochdale in his case. Same with John Coleman , tried his hand at Rochdale which wasn't successful and eventually went back to Accrington and has guided them up to a safe League 1 position.

At one time I thought Keith might have been a possible Morecambe manager but I am very happy with the way Derek has tackled the job and bought into the Morecambe ethos.

Bit surprised at this. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that Hill and Flitcroft had been appointed with a long term view to getting out of League Two, given the state of Bolton's squad and the points deductions.

They've got three League Two promotions under their belt between them, so I always thought the intention was in the long term to get them back out of League Two after what was a pretty inevitable relegation.
