They are for sale again but the £240K figure is the guide price from last time I think. Follow the Right Move link to
http://www.bidx1.com. The training pitches are up for auction again on 22 July. Guide price "to be advised."

Tyson Fury just posted on Instagram a video of himself down at the training pitches and stated he'd received the keys to the "Tyson Fury Foundation Boxing Gym/Football Pitch" for the local community to use. Looks like he may have bought it from the administrators. Wonder if we'll agree a deal with him to use the pitches?

Excellent. Let's hope we see plenty of him around the club. Box for the season Tyson?

Let's hope he builds the Tyson Fury Stand down the Carwash side to keep those of us that brave that terrace dry !

Whilst he is obviously primarily a boxing man and has never shown any interest in football one would hope that his loyalty to the local area will extend to the largest sporting institution in NW Lancs i.e. MFC. He is now a very wealthy guy and in these difficult times could really give us a boost if he's onside with our club as well as the boxing side of things. Fingers crossed!
UTS.

I thought I read somewhere that he was a Man U fan
Seems to me that we are in danger of putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with the wrong answer. Tyson says he bought it for the local community which is a great thing to do ......but not necessarily for the use of the club.

He does support Man United. His best friend Isaac Lowe is a big Shrimps fans and you would imagine he will be involved in the boxing side of things as well.
It has to be better than a developer that may have negotiated another access.
It has to be better than lying derelict like it has for a few years. The 3G pitches require something like £100,000 spending on them according to some estimates.
It must be great publicity for the club even if he is only marginally involved.

Would be superb if Tyson could somehow be associated with our club but his priority will be boxing and providing additional facilities for the community.
Just a shame that the Community team at the club was unable to negotiate an acceptable deal which for me would have been the ideal scenario.

£240K guide price + £100K to update the pitches so around £350K I doubt the club or the community scheme had that type of money and we never used it enough anyway.

My understanding is that a good proportion of the money would have come from Sports Grants and Government backed initiatives to encourage sports uptake in the community.

Tyson was also playing golf at Morecambe GC yesterday, so he likes being involved locally which is great news

Got to hope he's as good as his word and won't use the pitches land for other purposes. I assume the club will find a legal way to only provide access for sporting purposes. Wouldn't want a legal right of access to be created by passage of time and then for the land to be used for homes etc. I think at the very least, barriers need to be put up to block access, even if they're only closed/locked occasionally to protect against it becoming a right of way by default.

be good if we could swap some carpark land with the land right behind the Berlin wall stand up to the road itself, for better access and possibly for expansion in the future.
stupid how plans dividing land up were drawn like that in the first place, it was obviously going to cause problems at a future date, errr like now.

Tyson must be the wealthiest man in the area and certainly has the biggest profile. It is good to have him linked to the club and hopefully he goes about things the right way. The club have never used the local stars to raise our profile. McPint, Tyson, Chizzy and her from Corrie should be invited to the club.

If Tyson opens that gym to the public, I'm all over it.
Time for this 'fat knacker' to show his true worth
