Never knew they were a local company, did they take over Mopay's old premises? A stadium sponsor would make sense for both parties, I'm surprised we haven't taken advantage yet but hopefully we've just been waiting for the right deal.

We’re only just starting to take advantage of these aspects now we’ve finally got a good commercial manager and great bunch of (relatively) new faces around the directors’ table (not a dig at Rod & Graham by the way, we’ve just been lacking in numbers and new ideas). The improvements to hospitality, offers etc have been a much-improved part of the running of the club, so when this deal gets announced officially (probably along with transfer announcements as well), it’ll be another step in the right direction to undo the previous mistakes made at helm of the club. Keep it up guys!

Hopefully some funds for D.A. to bring in players he wants, rather than 'whoever we can get' !

https://www.morecambefc.com/news/2020/j ... m-sponsor/The Globe Arena is now the Mazuma Stadium!
Only weird thing from the statement is that it says it's a 3-year deal, but the stadium will be renamed for 10 years? What happens in the other 7 years?

Excellent news and most welcome. Here's hoping that all parties can benefit from this association.

It says that it has been called Globe Arena for 10 years (past) not that it will be renamed for 10 years (future).
Great to finally have a sponsor that exists!

I'm an idiot! I read it as: "the ground, which has been known as the ‘Globe Arena’, for 10 years will be renamed as the ‘Mazuma Stadium’. Obviously it doesn't mean that now

I thought owners weren't allowed to be involved in two clubs at the same time?

I think it's two clubs in PL and/or EFL that's not allowed.
If we met each other in the FA Cup though, that could be awkward.

Is it not because one club is professional and the other part time?

Well done to the commercial department for getting a deal in place - finding a new stadium sponsor seems to have been an absolute slog so it’s great to have a result!

Anybody checked out the MAZUMA website (must admit that I did for the simple reason that I had never heard of them!!).
On there you will see the news that they now sponsor the Morecambe FC stadium and there is also a picture of their little mascot/symbol (or whatever one should calh it) ....... IN A MORECAMBE FC CENTENARY SHIRT.
Totally brilliant. Well done Mazuma. And well done our commercial dept also.

That was the image that was put on the Morecambe twitter account a few days ago to hint at the sponsorship, I wonder if the mascot is actually a real costume that could maybe make an appearance at the Mazuma Stadium?! - probably just a character to use in their adverts! (Sadly!
)

Well what about Christie the Cat??
I suppose we could have two mascots - Christie the Cat and Mazuma the Mobile.
At half time they could compete against each other in various light-hearted ways to provide the half time entertainment.
Obviously we don't really know anything about this mascot aspect yet, but if it did happen in some way, I find it interesting that we would then have mascots linked to CHRISTIE Park and the MAZUMA Stadium. What does that tell us about The Globe Arena?
Perhaps (in the most positive scenario) we could start to think of the Mazuma Stadium as our real new home - something which I personally felt we never did with The Globe Arena.
A bit of fantasy perhaps, but positive fantasy anyway!!!!!

Another posotive note , we've never lost at the Mazuma .
