O/T BBC Pundit and "Handbags"

The BBC have suspended one of their pundits who described an incident as "handbags" !

The BBC at their virtue signalling best

(Waits for the usual suspects , Freez , Morecambe-Geek etc etc to jump to their defence)

I've always thought the term as used as odd and inappropriate. Much prefer 'kerfuffle'. Maybe that would be kerfuffling by a kerfuffler?

The article does say; "The BBC said: “After listeners raised concerns, Steve acknowledged some of his comments on air didn’t meet the standards we expect." Concerns & comments makes me wonder if it was other things said and 'handbags' was just chucked in with 'other stuff'?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Keith is right, there's far more to this than The Sun commented on. The Mail gives more detail: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sport ... dbags.html

He was warned for language in 2018. He referred to the referee's wife, called a player a drama queen and said they'd have been better to wear a skirt.

The BBC also said he hasn't been suspended, and will be used as a commentator again in 2021... so one month away.

Far more important issues than this to get upset about. We really are getting to a situation where everything that is said can upset some.....unbelievable....
