January

Wondering if people have any thoughts on if they would like to see any January signings?

I'm very happy with the squad at the moment, although I'd be keeping an eye out for a pacy/tricky/direct dribbling winger as I think it'd be something to give us a bit more variety in attack. CMG is tricky and relatively quick, but seems to have moved away from taking players on as much and drifts inside more as well as getting in behind far more than he did last season.

Not saying that's a bad thing - as we've seen in December, he's really honed this and become an incredibly potent goal threat. Just think it would be good extra option to have in attack, someone who will dribble a bit more quickly/directly.

One of the nonsense rumour mill transfer Twitter accounts claimed we are 'close' to signing Theo Archibald on loan. I think that's highly unlikely, but a player in his kind of mould would be good. I quite liked Brendan Kiernan at Harrogate, although he does lack a bit of end product.

Already shaping up as an interesting window for League Two. Stevenage have bolstered quite heavily. Newport have lost Cooper and Twine (unless they get loaned back again), while Carlisle have kept hold of Rhys Bennett. Liam Kitching at FGR has gone to Barnsley, and Max Watters at Crawley is pretty hot property right now.

I would be more than happy to extend deals on quite a few of the ones we've already got.
Hope AJ can contribute over the coming weeks

Seem to recall he was a real livewire against us when he was at Macc but appears to be a confidence player who can quickly go of the boil if things around him are going wrong.

I suspect DA knows all about him from his Scottish roots having played in their u23 national team some time ago.

Would be an OK addition but not in my opinion a priority and would be something of a gamble but may be dictated more about finances than anything else.

Couple of seasons ago Archbald was FGR’s best player in our 1-0 win at the New
Lawn, and impressed for Macc at Moss Rose against us, certainly worth a look but who knows?

The Twitter account that claimed Archibald is coming on loan is @efl_hub - this is a well-known ‘fake news’ account and I advise everyone to take everything on there with a pinch of salt. This is the same account that said Kev had signed at Chester, Tutte with Rochdale, Miller had signed a deal with us for this season and also that Bradford had signed Conlan from us. I think that proves my point

As others have said though, if we did actually sign him, I’d be happy with that.

Yeah just to clarify, please do not take this page as a reliable transfer news source. Just their 'rumour' happened to be a player in the mould I'd like to see us try and get in.
