I quite enjoyed the fact he said that he looks at the table 100 times per day, yet claimed there's 14 games left. Only 13, pal.

Do you think we were? I thought it was very even and a draw was probably a fair result. We were perhaps marginally better than FGR in the second half and to lose would have been an injustice. I certainly wouldn't expect their manager to say we were "by far the better team" because he's their manager, not ours! He did say it is good to see us up at the top of the table.

It was a pretty even first half - our pressing caused them trouble but they were able to break through the press a fair bit and break, mainly through Collins, which caused us a lot of issues.

In the second half, though, we absolutely bossed it - dominated the territory and played high up the pitch. They defended well but we stopped them from countering like they did in the first half, which is why we dominated territory so much.

Their goal ultimately comes from us having 10 men on the pitch (the restart was done correctly with a drop ball, but I think you could well argue we should have had a free-kick). CMG has to get back into the centre of the pitch to cover as we're a man light with Songo'o out, ball goes wide left and Hendrie is left 2v1 due to CMG having to cover centrally.

That said, I don't think their assistant's assessment is a particularly unfair one. Managers very rarely say 'they were the better team' etc, and tend to be more focused and descriptive of their own team's performance.

"Good to see Morecambe up there". That's what I heard. What do you expect him to say after a game they've been winning until late on?: "Well done - here's some Linda McCartney sausages to eat on the bus home?" It's football - and it's right after a very disappointing evening from his point of view. It's not a religion, you know: other people are allowed to have their own opinions and for an opposition executive, I thought what he said was pretty fair...

I've just watched D.A's post match. One thing he does not do is dismiss or bad mouth opponents. The only had thing he commented on was the amount of time wasting F.G.R. did in the last 15 minutes and he was right, it let us in. We seem to have learned not to do it and my God look where it's got us.
