Poor show today whatever anybody thinks about Kevin, great servant but totally out of order today, DA came in and broke up Jim's clique and a change was needed and look where we are today. Kev obviously has a grudge but let himself down imo big time today, didn't need to do that at all but it's what he does unfortunately, piss poor

To be honest I'm more disappointed we lost and he scored than the celebration. Clearly he has some personal issues with Derek, I didn't see it as an attack on the club. Yes it was unprofessional, but Kev had plenty of unprofessional moments at Morecambe and we loved them! He's still a club legend to me.

Adam Buxton has tweeted his enjoyment at Kev's actions. Hopefully the days of a team full of Scousers are long behind us.

Unfortunately for him he has self admitted mental health issues which he is apparently still struggling with. Very sad when he felt the need to push young Brewitts head into the coach window
Bit of a bully really and after that the writing was no doubt on the wall for his time at Morecambe. DA came in and dismantled the Scouse mafia. They were quickly sorted out and we were the better for it. DA is nobody’s fool. KE Hero to zero in my eyes.

That's exactly how I see it. If people liked his responses when he was our player, then just let it go. If fans loved it when he was ours, but are crying now, then they are being hypocritical. The sending off & defeat are more upsetting than the attention seeking celebration or drama queen response to it.
Derek responded in a dignified manner. Both men responded how I would expect them to.

This was a premeditated act and IMO Kev crossed the line. It's one thing goading the opposition fans after you score but to get into the opposition manager's face like that is ungentlemanly conduct and deserved a yellow card. Wonder what would have happened with fans in the ground.

Plenty of interest on Twitter in what happened yesterday. Gab Sutton saw it the same way I did but others are coming out in sympathy for Kev and how he was allegedly treated by big bad Derek. It is bringing some bad press and negative comments about the club which is always bad to see.
Kev crossed a line, that wasn't cheeky Scouser behaviour. I don't think anybody is being hypocritical as a Morecambe fan when saying that. When did he scream in a Managers face whilst playing for us? He was the ultimate WUM but he never behaved like that. I have had enough internet for today after seeing Keith using the phrase "drama queen".

Totally agree... Very childish act for a 42 year old so called man
Acted more like a petulant school boy because he wasn't Derek's pet like he was Jim's

I was at the ground yesterday.
Understand that keV has issues with DA but surely a cheeky wink or some such would have been a bit more acceptable than screaming in his face.
Kev had already deliberately run into DA with his shoulder on his way through the technical area to warm up.
Kev lost a lot of my respect yesterday.

Surely there must be a charge for misconduct brought against Kev. He brought the game in to disrepute with his actions.

I've read a few of the articles and listened to a podcast with Ellison, and I personally think the way things transpired last season was almost inevitable. I heard Ellison admit that he'd start bending JB's ear every time he was out of the first XI, and I think the high status he had at the club under JB meant he was never really going to accept being a squad player/gradually winding down his playing time at the club. In contrast, at Newport he's gone in fresh knowing and understanding he would/will just be a bit-part player off the bench occasionally.
Freezing out is not a nice practice, but is unfortunately fairly common in football. If you start posting daft things on Twitter about not starting etc and the team is needing to pull together in a relegation fight, it's not an entirely surprising outcome.
Ellison has made out that it was all personal but ultimately, the initial decision to leave him out was because he simply was not good enough to be a regular starter like he had been under JB. And in that regard with CMG coming in and being brilliant, Adams has been proven absolutely right.

Why did derek adams not speak to the player last season and say “maybe it’s time to move on”?
Instead of making him train on his own, and freezing him out.
As I said in another thread, I have no issues with it , emotions run high and Kev is an emotional person, derek acted professionally.

Maybe he did speak to Kev along those lines and I can imagine Kev reacting badly to that. It might have been at that stage that he was frozen out. We can only speculate.

Derek Adams results on the pitch have proven that the players he cleared out needed to be done.

Absolutely! I thought when Kev was in Dereks' face he didn't show anything back to him,no pushing or shouting, great non-reaction to the childish reaction of former king Kev.

From kevs Twitter:
Thanks Michael it wasn’t against the Morecambe fans at all no disrespect shown to you lot ... It was him and how he went about his ways to get me out/ retire me like baz .... unfortunately backfired
I’m not saying derek hasn’t done a good job, he has been amazing, but Kev isnt the only player who has had issues with derek’s communication skills.....

Derek isn't interested in being popular and isn't afraid of making tough decisions, he would have half expected what happened yesterday, and forgotten it by tomorrow.

Exactly. Derek raised above it completely. Kev is a wind-up merchant and a number of people have bitten.

Drama Queen ''Definition of a drama queen:
People (mostly girls - but boys play their part)
who like to blow everything totally out of proportion because they either:
a) Want to seek attention
b) Have some emotional dysfunction and it's their duty to make life harder for everyone around them
c) Just simply can't get over it
d) Extremely miserable and insecure
e) All of the above
You definitely "

Any new manager at our club would have got his broom out and swept clean the changing rooms of players he did not want. For all we know DA did talk to Kevin about his future but Kevin may have reacted in a way that left DA with no other choice than to make it perfectly clear he was no longer in his plans.
Let's not forget that Baz was also no longer in the managers plans going forward but Baz was prepared to accept the decision and is still a valuable member of DA's back room team which shows a greater amount of professionalism on his part than that of KE.
Kevin was and will remain a club legend, but for all the RIGHT reasons. Yesterday was not one of his finest hours.
As for Adam Buxton's response....showed no interest in being a MFC player and thought he was better than he was. Ended up after leaving in non league. Enough said....

And how many red cards did he get for hair pulling/bullying/intimidating opposition players when on the field in "off the ball" incidents - must have been 2 or 3 at least.

Keith, stop it please. It has been a crazy year or so and the last thing we need is you losing the plot. I have been called some things by people but YOU calling me a drama queen is a mind bend i don't need right now.
The good thing about Derek is nobody tends to know what is going on behind the scenes. How does anybody on here know what was said between him and Kev? Kev reacted poorly at the time and let himself down again yesterday. If you want to kill a snake you have to cut its head off and that is what Derek did when he came in to a under performing dressing room. It has worked wonders and players are flourishing under the new regime.
I am now off to vent my dismay on facebook and write a very stern letter to the Trust. Where can i buy some new shoe laces to support abused football managers?

Glad we have a much more mature squad nowadays. Good riddance to these childish attitudes of some of our former players.

Shows the difference in maturity and class that Barry has to just carry on with his job and not constantly whinge and moan every week he wasn’t selected. It isn’t a coincidence that Derek has had success at every team he’s managed, and has drastically improved Jim’s players. It’s also not a coincidence that Jim now faces another National League North season and Kev barely plays.
Kev had been playing considerably below the level of a lot of our players and consistently gave away goals due to his selfishness and poor defensive ability. Glad we have moved on from him.
