Now on the OWS.

DA seemed far more relaxed about the result ( even the hint of a smile at the end :)) than i expected and sounds to be enjoying his time with us and having a squad that never knows when it is beaten as we proved yesterday. Despite only having 10 on the pitch we took the game to Newport in the second 45 and shows the tremendous spirit and will to win that DA and his players have in their locker.

As for the penalty I noticed that Newport players didn't appeal the penalty which suggests that they didn't feel it was a deliberate handball.

The highlights on Quest and in the studio comments suggested that it was a harsh decision to send Sam off which without question altered the shape of the game into Newport's favour.

The 'interpretation' of the law changed so that 'intent' has been taken out. Now, if it hits the arm it is a penalty unless it comes off the player themselves. I'm not sure about the 'unnatural position' of the arm, whether that is still relevant?

Keith, as far as I've been told, the only way it is not handball now is if the offending arm is moving away from the ball and is by the torso.
