Our push for promotion

Our push for promotion

With only 10 games left it's opportune to take a look at who we still have to play and the results against those teams this season to date.

We've won 5 games against Cheltenham A; Southend A; Port Vale H; Grimsby H; Oldham A.

Lost 2 Bradford A and Cambridge H.

Drawn 3 Bolton Wanderers A; Walsall H; Scunthorpe A.

For me our run in is bloody difficult especially those away games to come with Cambridge probably the one that could prove to be very difficult. Even Grimsby A could prove difficult. :o

I just hope that it's all settled before we face Bradford in the final game of the season (prior to any play offs that we may be involved in. Assuming that we don't get promotion automatically.)

A number of those we've still to play have had some good result of late BUT a number in the promotion race have to play each other.

Let's hope that DA and his boys are up to the task ahead. I somehow think DA will get the lads fired up and should they under perform then the squad is experienced enough for ready made replacements to be called into action.

If we can replicate the 17 points somehow, I reckon we should have a chance of top 7.

Just taking the points from the last 5 results of the top 10 teams -

Bolton - 13 points
Cambridge - 12
Morecambe - 10
Tranmere - 9
Newport - 9
Leyton O - 9
Cheltenham -6
Exeter - 6
Forest G - 5
Salford -2

This,of course, doesn't take into account what opposition they faced. But does show that Bolton are flying and Salford are not
