I've just seen they have released 17 players! 17! That is crazy; Alex Gillead is among them, they offered him a deal which was rejected. Seen him a few times this season and he has looked class. I remember Freez and Glen being very complimentary when we played them at the Mazuma. Looked a really good player maybe worth a look?

I heard they also scrapped their U23 side to cut costs. Not looking good over there.

Port Vale released every out of contract player and of the four [?] left, the manager said two of them are now on the transfer list. Even the local legend Tom Pope has gone. My Port Vale supporting friend said "I think he's even sacked the tea lady"

Could this be a case of the failure of teams over spending to get success ?

Any coincidence that the 'salary cap' was scrapped just in time for the January transfer window, and Bolton Wan*er-ers went out to sign half a dozen players? Chasing short term success by gambling the future existence of the club? I bet Bury fans would rather they were currently a mid-table National League side, having been relegated from League Two, rather than getting promotion from League Two but never playing again?
