Best Wishes

Best wishes to Davis, Halstead, McAlinden, Leitch-Smith, Pringle and Slew who have been released alongside Hendrie and Kenyon who we knew about yesterday. A lot of talent and hard-work across those 8 and plenty of memories from them that we’ll cherish!

McAlinden was the play-off extraordinaire, Davis was arguably our best-performing defender at the start of the season, A-Jay’s goal against Orient will live long in the memory, Pringle clearly technically-gifted but didn’t quite work out, Halstead put in some mighty performances with us (including that triple save in front of the home end!) and JS found good & consistent form before his season was cut short.

I’m sure there will be plenty of good teams sniffing around at these talents and I wish them the best of luck!

Well put RS! Most of these players have contributed in some way this season, even if they've only been squad players or had smaller roles. For example, Pringle's corner got us that second goal against Walsall which felt very important at the time, Slew absolutely annihilated Crawley, McAlinden vs Cheltenham and in the playoffs etc.

Fingers crossed they all find themselves a good club!

Slew is the most frustrating one in many ways. At the start of the season, he was getting played but not really producing. Then his form began to improve. He got MotM in a match, then injured almost straight after. I wonder how much better he would have got without the injury?

When you look at our 'released' list, you really appreciate how far we've come in a short period. League One is going to be a terrific ride!

So how did that work out then?
