O/T Euro Championships on a big screen

What a pity that our club couldn't benefit financially by providing as big screen at the stadium like a lot of other clubs including Barrow have provided enabling fans to watch the games.

There are probably valid reasons for not being able to do so (financially too costly) including local council restrictions but it does seem that it was something that our club could have benefited from as in fact a lot of other clubs have been able to do so.

But seriously having watched that clip what is it doing to the pitch? Heavy picnic tables everywhere, on rain softened ground and hundreds of folk bouncing up and down and throwing drinks all over the grass.

Our new groundsman would be well impressed I'm sure.

Add to that I bet hire of the tables, chairs and massive screen ain't cheap.

Just to confirm, the article is referring to Barrow Raiders Rugby League Club.... NOT Barrow AFC. The rugby club/ground is completely separate to the football club. I think Stevenage have been holding a number of events at their stadiums, but think this is the exception rather than the norm amongst professional clubs.

Point taken but could have used the car park with barriers to prevent non entry other than those with tickets and put up a tent to provide drinks and food and tables for seating for everybody. The flag market in Preston was a prime example of how to do it AND charged £50 a ticket I understand. The place was packed out.

My mate who is a raiders fan and friends with the owner said the club are making a small fortune with the “beer garden” they set up a while ago not just for the euros. Can’t be doing the pitch any harm as Barrow Raiders remain unbeaten so far this season I believe !
