Kendal post match thoughts and goal videos

Bearing in mind that Kendal are no way a representative of the teams we will face in EFL1, last nights performance from a mix of Academy and Squad players provided a number of indications that certain players will be valued additions to last years core of promotion winning individuals.
Our latest newbies ie Ayunga and Phillips showed enough to suggest that they will be more than useful additions with Ayunga in particular showing a considerable amount of skill on the ball for such a big player. We all know what Adam is about and once he gets back to full match mode he will once again prove beneficial in our midfield engine room.
However for me the outstanding player on the night was Academy player Pye who impressed with his tackling but more so with his running at defenders with the ball. Time after time he took on the Kendal defence in numbers and was a handful all night. Given the benefit of our manager's expertise in coaching younger players Pye will be another one to depart us in time to at the very least a Championship club. If Leeds took one of our youngster without any experience of playing alongside first team squad players then Pye must surely follow a similar path but with that added advantage of having played in a number of pre season friendlies and excelled in all.
Overall an encouraging display but the real test will be this coming Saturday v Blackpool.
Bring it on....
