So loads of Premiership coverage then onto the EFL. Goals shown from four games including Barrow but our first ever home game in EFL1, with a victory to boot and it didn't even warrant a mention. Not expecting favouritism but surely the occasion is worthy of at least a word or two. No point complaining to them, I've tried before and not even received the courtesy of a reply.
UTS.

Their coverage of the weekend's football is very poor. The Premier League is all they are bothered about. Waste time showing interviews with the PL Managers when they could be showing all the region's EFL goals.

Never been any different, they love a bit of Tranmere coverage too. There isn't enough connected to little old Morecambe for the BBC; not enough going on. They must miss the points on the Eden project and the endless amounts of TV filming going on! Their TV coverage of sport has dropped off significantly in the last year or so. I thought the Olympics was a shambles and a poorly presented offering each day. Not like previous events.
MOTD is also a dying art, no one needs to wait for the highlights that long in the day of the internet and I believe viewing stats are plummeting.
However, I'm impressed with coverage on other sites less known, the 72 etc.

Tonight's Sport on Radio Lancashire was just as bad. Spent about 15 minutes discussing Accy's game, Coley's thoughts and the sale for £750K of their centre half.
When it came to discussing us no more than 5 minutes.
Not asking for much is it to expect a fair coverage of both NOT 15 minutes on a single team....mind you their Accy Commentator was in the studio chair tonight so it was always going to be on the cards.

Beyond radio is the future!
Perhaps radio accy are miffed by their coverage of us.

Radio Lankyshite (Slogan: The Sound of the 50s. Ee - t' 1850s...) had about four live commentaries on Saturday. Surely Morecambe's first-ever home game in League One should have been top of the bill. Was it covered live at all? I don't think so. No offence to Quinny, who I know does his best - but do they know that Morecambe is actually in Lancashire at Blackburn's BBC HQ?

Some mighty grumbling about the BBC. Having its income and budget cut thanks to a government that hates it doesn’t help. Also a lot of disinformation. So, what’s that got to do with the above:
- Look North West. A third of the staff made redundant, such as Dave Guest and Peter Marshall.
- Radio Lancashire had the Ipswich and Blackburn games live, and prefer to cover away games because of higher listening figure for those who can’t travel.
- The International Olympic Committee sold Olympic coverage for Europe to Discovery Channel. In the UK they sold on limited coverage to the BBC, which meant limited coverage. In Sweden they didn’t even get that and had to pay to watch. Personally, think it was a disgraceful decision.
I’ve seen loads of coverage of Morecambe over the years from clips of us as Erics at Luton; to fluke catching at Arnside; and every time we’re on no one says ‘well done BBC’.
Having us with 30 seconds of coverage won’t get us new fans or bring more people to games. With social media the job is ours to raise profile by sharing with friends and innovative club media and marketing activity.

Sorry Michael but i think our first home game in League1 with a victory included deserved at least a minute to be shared with the NorthWest public , but it didn't surprise me really as we didn't get much coverage for the whole of last season either .

In absolute fairness, BBC Lancs are superb at what they do. Their 'problem' is they have a lot of teams to cover, and Burnley, PNE, Blackburn & Blackpool will always be ahead of us. That's just the way it is.
BBCNWT again will be pushed for space but have little excuse to at least mention we played!

I think the coverage we have been getting from Lancs has improved. There are lots of interviews on twitter with the Manager and different players. Not sure who the interviewer is but he seems to know his stuff and asks decent questions. The coverage after Derek left was informative with good interviews from Rod and Graham which helped keep is in the loop at the time and who can forget that during the Cala/Lemos saga, Rod's interviews on Lancs were all we had!
We are always going to be down the pecking order because there are some decent sized clubs in the catchment area. We have had some cracking coverage from other media outlets/sources recently, times have moved on and its not all about the old tele box and wireless.

I agree that it was poor. The 'unique selling point' was that this was our first ever home game in League One. I appreciate there are lots of other clubs in the area who are bigger than us, but Granada covers the same region but manages to give us more mentions.
And therein lies the answer... stop watching BBC and keep watching Granada!

I don't think that's the point. I write my match reports for established supporters; not to get new ones or persuade new fans to attend the games. It's not Missionary work: it's to help to keep the profile of the club as high as possible. Even
Tesco recognise that Every Little Helps. BBC Local Radio is generally poor - in fact, it's crap: listening to its utterly brainless output, it's no wonder so many Southerners in particular think we're all thick up here. The BBC TV in Manchester is Manc-centric and I still think their piss-take of our club and our town as a pale shadow of Rio when that Brazilian gentleman was about to become involved a few years ago by the idiot who still presents `sport' on the programme was a really cheap piece of journalism - `Ee - look at them yokels Oop North and thurr silly little team! I can look out of our windy here in Sunny Salford at Old Trafford whurr real football is played and thurr is
celebrities!'. In my view, one of the reasons - as Derek Adams so perceptively identified - that so many people even at the club saw it as `little old Morecambe' is because that is the way it is portrayed by the local state-owned radio and TV stations. I don't pay my license fee to be bombarded by endless stuff about PNE and Blackburn Rovers. But that's what we get, week-in and week-out. It's about time it stopped: the club has been sensational for the last two seasons and this should be broadcast right across the region by the tired, boring old institutions which have the power to do it. Onwards the Revolution! Viva El Robbo!
