what a nightmare to manage for our Stewards, its an awful design, it should of been like our home end coming right down to ground level, plus we'd get more paying away fans in
I'm afraid its going to be like this all season with bigger away following, and i can only imagine the cost of Police being called in.

Said it before but this is what happens when you let an Ex Postman design and build a football stadium. So glad we have seen the back of the likes of Mark Dixon and have the right people in charge to right the wrongs.

cant see Mark having had a say in the design, more Globe Construction saying to PM this is what you can have for the Christie Park money, anyway its all in the past now.
just hope there's grants and funding to make that stand an all seater, that would be the perfect solution .

Didn't PMG flip the ground round and stick an extra floor on his main stand at the cost of a roof on the Berlin Wall?

Was,nt the ground build limited due to the fans wanting standing both ends, meaning that grants where not available.
As they where only available for seated areas.

Yup our ground should have looked more like Burton's with a small seating stand down the Berlin Wall.
Also behind their away end you actually go into a small Bar which is underneath/built into the stand, I never understood why we didn't so this with all the arguments about not having a roof. Both their home and away ends are standing so I guess they didn't get grants.

I have to agree, the away end is a very poor design, and needs to be improved ASAP from how I saw it a few seasons ago.
I'm not sure if 'fans' were really listened to during PMG years, or why Shrimps fans would particularly want to see standing away terraces?
We have to look forward, and make improvements for both the safety of away fans, make more of away crowd capacity and increase income for the Club in the long-run.
I'm sure the Board will be looking at this matter, particularly after today's crowd (and result!). UTMS!!!

Or is it case of ' the end is nigh'?

The other issue with the away end is the sun is right in your eyes as it sets. Worst around February, but regularly low enough to dazzle. Now being utterly ungracious, if the away fans can't see, I don't really mind, but I really wish we'd use this to our advantage and shoot from distance, when on the right, just outside the penalty area. Always a good chance the keeper will lose the flight of the ball. Ironically, I've only seen this happen once, when Baz was beaten in this manner a few seasons ago!

The wall is unnecessary and as proven yesterday, potentially, unsafe. Surely it couldn’t cost too much to demolish it and bring the terracing down to ground level.

I wonder if the wall in front of the stand is there so provide some sort of corralled mentality by keeping all away fans in a semi enclosed area from a security point of view. Obviously on certain games it doesn't work but for the vast majority of games it serves its purpose.
To date I've been surprised about the lack of negative comments about the rear of the stand from away fans.

seem to recall part of the idea was to get bigger additional advertising boards to generate revenue too

Suspect the height at the back is the same as the home end.
Issue is that it couldn't be as deep or would have impinged on the car park hence you have to lose a number of steps to provide walkway at front.
Probably thought it would only be an issue once a season or so and so compromised on the number of terraces.
