Doncaster away and Crewe away

These are massive games now ...two draws would not be a disaster

Six points please! Doncaster lost five, drawn one and scored only two goals in those six games, so we really want to take advantage, there's probably no better time to play them. Crewe not doing much better, two goals & two points. A win and a draw perhaps would be okay, but I'd rather we put some space between us & them.

Totally agree Keith. Those are the two bottom teams in the league, with three points out of a possible thirty six between them. A win and a draw would se to be a fair target.

If we are going to get anything out of the next two games we have to show massive improvement. We need some pace in the centre of defence and unfortunately Delaney and O'Connor don't have it! We also will probably see Letheren return in goal.

Thing is who can we bring in at CB to make it better is Wooton any better? Another reason why we should have turned the sam money down we had no time to bring anyone else in.

Just seen this on the Doncaster fans forum .... Very interesting !!!!!

OK, most of us suspected that today would be a defeat. Wigan are one of the strongest teams in League 1; and to be fair to Rovers, we've played top half of the table teams every week to date.

The real test of where we are will be next week against a team currently in the bottom half of the table; and just to add spice, they're managed by Stephen Robinson, the man turned down by Rovers to give RW the job.

A defeat next week would really be hard to take.

Due to my age and distance from Morecambe I regret I see very few games each year and, therefore, rely on reports on SV. What shocks me is that we have posts decrying other teams fans for wanting instant success yet this week we are getting posts on our own forum referring to "massive games", "massive improvements needed" when only two weeks ago we were celebrating a win over the "mighty" Sheffield Wednesday! We have played 6 games in a higher league than ever before with an injury ridden squad who are still getting used to playing with each other and some are getting close to pressing the panic button

Give it another 5 or 6 games and see where we are then for goodness sake! I would also point out that most of you have said in posts so far that the matches are far more entertaining than they were. Surely that comes into the equation as well?

Totally agree, although I would say, we're looking at big games after big games after big games...

Today, the manner of the defeat was frustrating. Having defended well so far this season, we capitulated far too easily today. Fantastic game to watch and goal of the season already. If that had been scored in the Premiership, they'd be talking about it for decades!

The brand of football we are playing is a joy to watch, particularly in the second half today.
The teams we have played are a step up from League Two, unsurprisingly.
Oxford got battered by the Wombles last week after conceding from set pieces. Stephen is rightly annoyed tonight as he and the players knew what to expect but they didn’t deal with it, hence the defeat.
However, we have a mile of injuries, Harrison, Duffus and Phillips have joined the walking wounded, but given the players available, (we do lack some experience in this division) , but for me, the players are doing us proud.
Defeat in injury time is a bitter pill to swallow, but given the disappointment at the final whistle, all will learn from today.

i watched the Wimbldon game last week and Oxford were the better footballing side but Wimbledon were very direct and like you said good at set pieces, i knew it would of been an hard game and would of settled for a point.

Agree Keith, I wonder what’s changed in our defence.

interesting how SR mentioned in a recent interview last week that he judges or goes by games in banks of five and if somebody said at the start of the season this is where you will be placed in L1 it would of been acceptable.
