Robinson's first ten games

Robinson's first ten games

Postby Redalert1970 » Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:33 pm

Played 10
Won 3
Drawn 1
Lost 6

For 13
Against 16

Most worrying thing for me is we have now lost 6 out of last 7 games
Need to get at least a point at Crewe on Tuesday

A worrying run of results. The sooner the injured strikers return the better! Manager will come under some pressure soon. We need points! COYS

Nobody ever said it was going to be easy staying in this league. The trouble with beating teams like Sheff Wednesday is that it gives fans inflated ideas.

Talk about SR coming under pressure is ridiculous at this stage of the season

Agree but the buck stops with him.

The loss of 3 strikers already this season is proving costly as goals win games but our central defenders are not performing in the way that we expected.

For me it's time to give the current goalkeeper Andresson a rest and restore Letheren to the line up starting at Crewe on Tuesday.

Also time for Phillips to get a recall....

What did he do wrong yesterday?

I'd be more worried if we were getting turned over every week. However the fact that we're competing and every defeat in the league has been by the odd goal fills me with some optimism. I don't think we're far away from holding our own in this league. Just need to get some of the basics right.

In hindsight if Adam hadnt come on we wouldnt have conceded the corner leading to their goal and he wouldnt have been in the way to stop Cole scoring

We can't play like we did yesterday and expect to win games at League 1 level. We were slow and ponderous in attack and shaky at the back. Wooton and AOC are a good pairing but i do think the team would benefit from having CL back in goal. Andresson did nothing wrong yesterday but he is young and inexperienced and we need some organisation at set pieces.
SR needs to settle on a midfield three rather than swapping every week. Shane and Toums are starters and its either Wildig or Phillips for me. Up front selection is hindered but the gap between midfield and Cole is massive, a bit like the bad old days.

Totally agree with Broadway shrimp we are losing by 1 goal

Yes it's still a defeat but good things to work on

3 away games ... Ipswich we were unlucky not to win
Gillingham won with dodgy penalty
Doncaster were lucky not to lose keeper yesterday

Hopefully decisions even out over season

Agree that we are a bit same in the midfield three, I like Both MCs and Toums but none of them run on beyond the ball, so it’s either Azza or Adam with two of those for me at Crewe.
As for the four forwards being out, perhaps McPake is worth a start out wide and Gnohoua alongside Cole?

Don't worry, he's admin. He'll just edit your post so that it is total nonsense...

Whatever :D ...... really think a dual strike force of Cole and Arthur is worth looking at.....until one or more of our walking wounded strikers are able to make a return.
