There was a Twitter poll during the week for Derek in or out. Crazy world over there in Yorkshire.
Nothing good ever comes from those online polls

They are imploding from within and the season is only just underway. Big club Derek but if you don't get it quite right you get slaughtered. As he is now finding out.

Typical Bradford fans. They will never change who ever is in charge. Gary Bowyer sacked, Simon Grayson not good enough. Whoever they get they want instant success. It took Derek six months to assemble a good squad of players here but nine matches he is useless. The grass isn’t always greener which he must be finding out now.

I keep reading all sorts on twitter. People saying he has had player brought in that he didn't want, people blaming the CEO and the head of recruitment.
I cant imagine Derek working with people like a head of recruitment etc.
Maybe us with our lack of infrastructure and unprofessionalism wasn't so bad hey at least he had sole charge of playing matters.

It turns out that their head of recruitment who brought in a lot of their players over the summer is no longer at the club. Reading between the lines, it seems like Derek wasn't happy with the summer window and their CEO has backed Derek and sacked the head of recruitment.
I completely agree that our setup benefitted him, he knew exactly which players he wanted with us and ultimately that won promotion. As others have said, I'm not so sure he'll get that time and backing from the fans long term over there - he's quite stubborn with his teams unless he has to change something.

I think the big question from the Morecambe perspective is if we'd be as successful/playing as well right now if he was still here, and I'm not sure that's the case.
I think DA really was an example of right time, right place.

I'm sure I heard that SR wanted a head of Recruitment at some time down the line.
IF we go with it I just hope that SR brings somebody in who he knows and trusts because for me I am not that convinced that a H of R is value for money.

Robbo seems to be the kind of Manager who would rather be busy on the training ground rather than scouting and dealing with agents.

I suppose it depends what the Head of Recruitment actually does, if they are more like a chief scout and then feedback to Robbo who has the final decision I could see that working.
Nowadays I guess there is a lot of trawling through stats and analysis, checking out players backgrounds, dealing with agents etc and that's before travelling to midweek games to look at players.

Dereks days at Bradford look to be numbered. Reports of him shouting back at fans and quite a hostile post match interview.

Would not by all accounts be DA’s 1st hostile media interview, he had a serious on just prior to parting company from Plymouth, and I think it would fair to say that our own Derek Quinn had difficulties obtaining relevant answers to the questions put to him at times!

If we went down we could maybe do with him back to get us back up again as his style suited league 2, I am not sure if the passing game Robbo likes would work in league 2.

If we go down and I still think we will survive I would expect Stephen to continue. He has a 3 year contract for a start. A good number of the players are also contracted for next season too.

i have watched Bradford a few times this season, Sir Derek is doing exactly the same he did with Plymouth and Morecambe promotion winning teams, 4-2-3-1 and two players for every position, with Songo holding the midfield with a target man upfront with Andy Cook as their Cole Stockton

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0bntcyyRadio Leeds post match with DA.
'I took a gamble coming here from a League 1 club' .......from circa the 6th minute. He feels that no other manager who came in would have his record of achievement.
Sounds as though he hasn't changed in his style and to be fair it worked well for us even though it was dour at times.

Been interesting watching his time at Bradford. First half of the season the underlying numbers were very positive, they just appeared to keep being unlucky/bad finishing at times. Saw them in a draw against Bristol Rovers and thought they played excellently, just unlucky/switching off a little a the back.
Things do seem to have taken a turn now though. Their underlying numbers haven't been so good in the second half of the season and they're looking increasingly likely mid-table finishers.
I think there are a few mitigating factors. He had 2/3rds of a season with us to work out which players to keep and how to mould/build his squad. Also was completely in charge of recruitment, whereas at Bradford he was seemingly at odds with a head of recruitment who's now left.
In a sensible world, the Bradford fans understand these facts and Adams doesn't say sniping things in interviews. However, Bradford fans (surprise, surprise!) have been quick to turn and now Adams is saying some things that are biting and possibly a little unwise.
Interested to see how this plays out. Their CEO really backed him and invested in him when announcing him at Bradford. He'll look very foolish if he sacks him halfway through the season. But the atmosphere and performances are turning a bit now.

Part of the trouble at Bradford was the very inexperienced CEO who recruited Derek promising their fan base promotion this season! Following several seasons of failure they bought into this big time and of course when it became apparent that they were rapidly heading for yet another season of failure they have had a complete sense of humour failure and turned on the owner, CEO and even more so on Derek who they now seem to hate with a passion. It’s all getting very toxic over there.

I disagree. I think that even if we went down, Robbo would be the right man to stay in charge. He's got a lot more interest in developing players, which is what we will need to progress as a club. Derek Adams worked miracles to get us up, but I think empty stadiums and clubs being more concerned about finances helped us a lot, while hindering other teams. I really hope we survive in League One, as getting back up will be tough, but if we do go down, we'll be a much stronger club for this experience.

much rather the robbo game than adams....even if we do get beat more..if we go back down, robbos style of play will send us straight back up . i am sure most supporters this season have really enjoyed our football, compared with the past few seasons.i know i have.

Certainly Robbo's game is miles better entertainment than that of DA's but just wish the result could be better but I suppose that is as much to do with having to build a squad in record time and it was always going to be the case that a number wouldn't live up to expectations ie McDonald, Delaney and McPake but if only 3 haven't performed that well then the others are a credit to Robbo.
Entertainment has been the name of the game and takes me back to the early days of JB and before that the games under Jimmy Harvey and going way back under Ken Waterhouse.
Whatever happens in May this has been a season like no other but I'm not sure that Robbo's style would be a winner in EFL2...... I think he would realize very quickly that that he would have to adjust because the difference between EFL1 and EFL2 is huge in my opinion.

Surely winning football is the most enjoyable type of football? Who in their right mind would choose relegation fights playing nice football then promotion seasons playing ugly football? Oh, hold on...

Looks like Bradford fans aren't too keen on ugly football when it doesn't bring success. Mid-table League Two with ugly football or a relegation battle in League One, trying to play decent football? Oh, hang on...
