Quite scathing intrrview, most managers stand up for their players, but he's basically saying half of them aren't up to the standard required

An interesting January coming up

SR says he knows we needs a stopper in midfield somebody to break play up, its what we’re missing, but as to wait till the next transfer window.

so then he needs to change from 4-3-3 to compensate for a sub standard midfield.

The highlights suggest to me that the penalty was dubious as our player got the ball but their player fell over the after the ball had been cleared.

Also I noticed how yet again our captain appeared to blame all those around him for their opening goal. About time he accepted some responsibility himself. DA obviously saw enough of him in the final home game v Bradford last season to show him the door when he took over at Valley Parade. DA is an excellent judge of a player as he proved for us. For me he got that call 100% right.

I don't have much faith in our captain both as a defender and as as a leader which playing such a crucial role in any team is so very important. However SR continues to select him whilst all those around him are chopped and changed on a far too regular basis.

Very interesting point. We all know Derek oversaw Bradford’s released and retained list while he was still on our books - he’s clearly adjudged AOC to not be up to a good enough standard at L2, perhaps shows the rush SR had with assembling a squad.
