Previous experience as Head of Recruitment at Northampton (c.2015) and chief scout at Motherwell (c.2016-2019). Went back to Northampton as HOR in May this year and has been praised for his work there. Opted to leave Northampton because of his previous experience working with SR and the offer of taking some coaching responsibility.

Welcome Martin!

His track record of finding players look good we must have come across him before at Hereford, York and Scouseport.

Shame he was a striker we were saying last night we could do with someone on the coaching staff that was a defender.

Wonder how a recruitment committee works..... :?: :?: :?:

Sounds to me as though too many having a say in the recruitment policy that wouldn't suit those who like to be independent.

Welcome Martin....big job on your hands but maybe the challenge and increased responsibility on the coaching side will be welcome return to the training ground.

Sure it will be a success for all concerned and in particular our club.

Wonder if this post is at the expense of an additional player in the transfer window in January. In the light of last night’s performance we are going to need four or five new players to have any chance of survival in League 1.

Wonder who they would be in contention to replace.... :?: :?: :?:

For me it must be AOC, Delaney and McDonald to name 3... :!: :!: :!:

The loan players may be released back to their clubs earlier than scheduled which would be a mistake for me.

It's obvious Robbo wanted to bring him in the Summer.
Former colleague of Foyle mentioned he was " a workaholic with an encyclopedic knowledge of the English football's lower leagues". Good luck Martin

Looks like a very good appointment given the success he's had in the past with Robbo. Also did a great job at Northampton over summer. They doing very well in League Two at the moment, and have a brilliant defensive record.

Interesting to see that he'll be having a hand in coaching from time to time. Probably nice for Robbo to get that extra bit of experienced help after a tough run like this.

Sounds as though he was well respected and appreciated for the work he did at the cobblers by the fans which argues well for his time and work at our club.

This is a positive appointment and will hopefully bring an improvement in results come the January window.

Martin Foyle(decent player) sounds like another coach who will be going out on scouting missions when needed.
