With numbers of fans to the game at Buxton probably been strictly limited maybe the club could look into opening JB's for fans to view the game and enjoy the company of other fans whilst enjoying a drink and maybe a pint or two.

To determine numbers for catering a small cover charge of £1 could be made payable in advance and if numbers passed a certain level then transfer the event to upstairs.

Upstairs would probably be the best venue especially if food is being sold. May depend on whether there are any functions already booked.

With the layout of JBs , only about 20 people can see a screen.
Upstairs isnt much better unless they use a projector

They use both bars for jabs but with uncertainty until the draw about whether there would be a game on the cup Saturday maybe that day has not been scheduled for jabs.

No doubt details of watching the game on TV ( large screen :?: ) at our stadium will be released in due course.

I've a feeling that there will be considerable take up by fans and therefore numbers will be limited.

They should make it ticket only, charge £5 and give a 'free' pie or pint. That way fans are committed and they can control the numbers. How many does the W&L suite hold? Maybe open both upstairs and downstairs?

I am sure that many local pubs will be trying to get in on the act and may be free, but I would rather be with fellow fans at the Mazuma.

Pie AND a pint, which covers the entrance fee, so no advantage to going elsewhere, but as you say, numbers can be controlled. Have a band on in the evening. Obviously, a bit of a gamble, if we lose most people will sulk off at the final whistle, but is we win, we can keep punters there all afternoon. The TV's would be giving updates of other games around the country. We could keep the bar busy for a good few hours.

Was talking to 2 mfc lads in fleetwoods clubhouse last saturday about how well it seemed supported by both young and old. and they were on about attracting fans to j.b.s pre and post match. Anything that could keep folk from going elsewhere to view game, and bring coffers in should be encouraged.

I think 'Evening' is pushing it a bit from a 12.30 Kick off! I like a beer but if the doors open at 11.30, I wont still be there in the evening

£5 for a pie and a pint is not making the club any money really. Maybe the ticket could also be used as a raffle for a signed shirt or something?

I think the advantage is that we are in an non Premier League pub fan environment. We are all Morecambe fans and we are all together. :D

Unfortunately no mention of how many tickets available, so this could also be on a priority basis as is the live match, ie, season ticket holders first.

No mention of maximum number of those able to view at the Stadium.

Could foresee a problem if the numbers exceed the space available.

BBC coverage aside, I enjoyed the afternoon at the Mazuma yesterday. Only around 40ish fans but all that were there created a great atmosphere. The staff and service was great and my pie was delicious! :D

I thought there might have been more, but I think the £5 put a few off as it turned out that it was £5 for your first pint! Not great when we could have watched it anywhere else for free, but good to be among fellow supporters and nice to be in the Wright & Lord Suite. If more had turned up it might have been difficult to see the big TV on the stage but as it turned out most seemed to be able to see and had a good time.

Great idea, but a rethink if it was to happen again.
