Anyone who says he’s lost the dressing room might want to change their mind
He’s made a slight change
Probably ripped the paint of the walls at half time
AND MY GOD WHAT A RESPONSE
Not just a win but the gap is now 7 points between us and Doncaster

I think Mr Potatohead tweeted at half time that Robbo had lost the dressing room. Looks like he hasn't.
How good were they 2nd half !

Deserves a lot of credit today for sure. Excited to see who is coming in to reinforce this week. Hopefully that 45 minutes provides a bit of momentum in the league.

Really pleased for him. Certainly had my doubts recently but far better to continue with the same manager if possible. Hopefully a few signing and we can put a run of results together

Doubts were certainly creeping in for everyone recently I think.
I don't think we were ever likely to sack SR mid season but this result has certainly reflected well on him personally.

What I don't understand is that second half was like how we played at the start of the season so we know we can play like that and well, so why have we suddenly stopped over the past couple of months? Is it just confidence where as the start of the season we didn't fear anyone and just went for it from the start, have we become to cautious now doubt has set in.
The defence still needs some serious work though I have no idea what they do in training all week as they always look like they have never played with each other.

Got a response when it seemed like we were doomed, massive part of lower league management. I didn't think we were that bad first half but we did concede 3 shocking goals

Agree completely, our defending was non existent from the first half set pieces, but didn’t think we played too badly going forward. Alfie was off key all that half, and rightly was subbed and Wildig added composure and graft.
We went back to 4-3-3 and playing through the thirds instead of hoof all second half and it paid off. Well done All but Ockers deserved that as he has been superb during this bad spell.

An amazing second half in which Ayunga worked well, Cole was his usual lethal self and Toums showed why he has had such a good career. Good to see Obika get on the score sheet and Wildig had a big influence when he came on after half time. Defence really poor first half and i thought Letheren could have done better with at least two of the Doncaster goals. An encouraging result hopefully boosted by 3 or 4 signings to help us preserve our place in league 1. Credit to SR for the result and it buys him a little more time to sort things out.

Delighted for Robbo and every player out there. The second half was an amazing performance and hopefully, come the end of the season, we will look back on that second half as a turning point. I wonder if Donnie Rovers will also look back on it as a turning point? At half-time, we were in a relegation spot, one point above Doncaster, two points from bottom. By the end of the game, we're two places outside the relegation places, seven points clear of the bottom.
Robbo has spoken about 'confidence' & 'fear' in some players recently. That result will lift every one of them.

I do think we have a proper Manager in Robbo and he will mould a good squad and build the club upwards. I think us as fans still had our heads in the clouds after Wembley and didn't realise the strain on the club after losing a Manager, most of the squad and then bringing in a new Manager who had to build a new squad. Robbo has done well to keep us out of major trouble and we go in to the transfer window out of the bottom 4. He deserves credit for that. He has a big month ahead, players need to come and go with results improving on the pitch. He represents the club well and his interviews are honest and straight forward.
I do hope the fans stick with him and todays incident is a one off.

Have every faith in the manager, I did have a little wobble at half time where I began to think he may have to go but glad to admit that was a daft moment, he obviously did a great job at half time and think he could do really well for us in the second half of the season, hopefully with a good transfer window where some players definitely do need to be moved on.

Hi,
Motherwell fan here, I've been lurking around the forum since Robinson took over so I hope you don't mind me chipping in.
I was a fan of Robinson during his time up here, he did a good job with the resources he had at hand however reading some of the comments on different threads a lot of them seem quite familiar.
One of the recurring themes was that we'd see a pretty large turnover of players in the summer. Generally he'd bring in players of varying profiles on 1 or 2 year deals and he'd work out who was good enough and the ones who weren't would end up seeing less and less game time until they were eventually moved on.
A lot of his recruitment was good but there was also a lot of wastage. It probably balanced out as a lot of those players were probably on the lower end of our wage scale but in the end it was just unsustainable to have to re-build entire squads every other year.
We'd find ourselves hitting a dip in form in the period around Christmas with injuries and there was a huge drop off between out first XI and the back up players.
However, one of the things he was good at was identifying the issues with the team and fixing them in the January window. The best example was when he switched from the 352 that had got us to two cup finals the prior season but the rest of the league had worked out and changed to the 433 that he seems to have stuck with ever since. With that change we went from scrapping in the bottom half in the league to having the 3rd best points total behind Celtic and Rangers for the calendar year 2019.
Clearly there's no guarantee he'll replicate this with you guys, it's a different league and Morecambe face different challenges in L1 compared with Motherwell in the Premiership up here but in his 3 full seasons with us the period following the winter break/January window usually saw an uptick.
All the best for the rest of the season. I hope SR manages to do a turn for you.

No problem in admitting that I got it wrong about O'Connor.... and so glad he's proved me wrong.
Get a quality partner up alongside him and with a possible new goalkeeper already sorted maybe we can get out of a relegation battle.

Given that I am not on twitter that's not possible .....
I thought we were fantastic in the second half , full credit to the manager and players , entertaining stuff, we did however , beat the worst team in this division by one goal ,and we need half a dozen better players to stay up.

I can assure you he and the rest of the bench went absolutely mental, then gathered himself as the players reached the dugout - presumably to try and tell them to keep their heads

Bunmoreland what's the keeper Trevor Carsons like?
I think the problem he might have at Morecambe with that transfer strategy is trying to move players on I'm really not sure who would take some of them.

Carson was a very good goalkeeper for us. Up there with the likes of John Ruddy and Darren Randolph in the group of our best in the last 20 years. It was really unfortunate how things ended up for him at the club.
He was good with reaction stops, comfortable claiming crosses and his distribution was also very good. I think the time he missed through injury overshadows just how good he was for us at his best, which was the 17/18 season.
His first season had a 'sliding doors' moment in that Brendan Rodgers wanted to sign him for Celtic after Craig Gordon picked up an injury in the closing days of the January window. Depending on what story you believe Celtic weren't willing to pay the £500k we were looking for given he was our #1 and in great form or we accepted their offer but weren't willing to let him go until we had his replacement confirmed and that replacement opted to sign for another club.
Either way he ended up staying and bettered our clean sheet record previously set by Randolph.
The feeling was that we wouldn't stand in his way if an acceptable offer came in after the Celtic stuff and brought in Mark Gillespie (now at Newcastle) essentially to replace him but despite a few rumours of Cardiff being interested nothing really happened so he stuck around.
He was establishing himself as #1 for Northern Ireland but developed a deep vein thrombosis and that's where it started going wrong. The DVT kept him out indefinitely, Gillespie took his chance and established himself as #1 so by the time Carson was back fit he found himself on the bench. Gillespie's consistent form meant he got his move to Newcastle, Carson signed an extension and started last season as our #1 but tore his meniscus at the end of October which kept him out for an extended period.
We rushed him back in December as our form had gone off a cliff but he broke down again in his 2nd game back which pretty much kept him out for the season. We brought in Liam Kelly on loan then went all in to make the loan permanent in the summer.
He's too good a goalkeeper to be sat on the bench so it felt inevitable that we wouldn't stand in his way if he got another offer of first team football.
The story seems to have been that there was a move planned for him to go back to Hartlepool (his family is based in the North East) but Dundee United came in at the last minute and offered him a 2 year deal and presumably a promise that he'd start as there was talk of them selling Siegrist but he got injured in the closing weeks of the last window which meant any deal that was lined up fell through and has left Carson back on the bench once Siegrist was back fit.
His last appearance for United was 18th December in a 1-0 loss against Rangers at Ibrox so he's fit and by all accounts he had a very good game.
If you're looking at a goalkeeper then given he seems to be back and healthy it'd make sense. Carson seemed to get on really well with Robinson, he talked positively about his man management.

Sorry about the length of that last post.
You've maybe already seen this but here's a YouTube clip of Carson, the games are roughly from his first 6 months at the club. It's probably enough to give you an idea of what he was about for us.

I wrote elsewhere, that I was actually delighted that the lads put in that performance for Robbo - as he has believed in them when few others did after recent displays.
We were not playing badly in the first half, but found ourselves 3-0 down due to some truly atrocious defending and a goalkeeping - most goals conceded in the entire football league so far (49, averaging over 2 a game). This needs to be fixed in the window, which Stephen readily acknowledges. Great reading the input from bunkmoreland - welcome to the page.
That second half display yesterday was exactly what we needed - it’s actually better than a scrappy 1-0 win! Our season was literally being counted out, yet the lads showed us some character (which we have not seen enough of in recent months) to get themselves off the deck and win that game. It would’ve been much easier to fold. That should give them a lot of confidence going forward, and it certainly gives me some hope. I bumped into Keith in the club shop - good to see smiles on people’s faces again. We all needed that!
Special mention about Jonah Ayunga - he didn’t just play well in the second half, he played well throughout. He needs to learn how to use his physical attributes more effectively, but I thought he lead our press all day long. He was my unsung hero, carrying on from another encouraging performance against Crewe. He is often belittled/maligned - but if he continues to put in the effort/running then he deserves to be supported.
Spurs in the cup is a day out, but after that we have a big game against AFC Wimbledon who are down there scrapping with us. We have accrued most of our league points to date against the sides down at the bottom of the table - which is why the Fleetwood and Crewe home results were so debilitating in the bigger picture. But if we can get a result at the Dons, and strengthen our defence we could build a bit of momentum.
