I seen him, he was talking to a player in the away dugout before KO.

Could well be Trevor Carson a NI Goalkeeper. The player (
) who came onto the pitch looked very much TC from a wee bit of research and a current photo of him.
Think he's a friend of SR having posted a congratulation message following a League Managers Award to SR earlier this season with a picture taken outside our Uni Training Ground.

I think it was probably Scott Wootton in the red hoodie - saw him around the stand just before the game in a red hoodie so was likely him congratulating players after the game. Also not sure we'd have a yet un-announced player hanging about on match-day in club colours!
That said, the Trevor Carson rumour does look to have legs. Seems like he'd be a decent signing.

Midfielder Jacob Mellis (30 years old) being linked with us. Former Chelsea youth and England youth international (U16 + 17 +19s), but originally from Nottingham. Played all of his career to date in the EFL (250+ appearances) across all 3 divisions. Currently without a club having been released from Southend United in the summer after a short spell there at the end of last season, having signed from Gillingham.

That sounded promising until you said released from Southend.

If true about the link to us, I wouldn’t read too ouch into that Southend stint. He most probably went there to get some games at the back end of a season - he did drop to League Two from League One Gillingham. I believe he had a one year option to stay, but obviously not executed by one of the parties (perhaps he didn’t want to drop out of the football league?). As for being unsigned - lots of footballers were in his situation, with clubs opting to operate small squads due to the uncertainty of COVID/no fans/cancellations…. Which tbh was a big factor why we were able to recruit a good squad last season…. Lads that might’ve been kept on the books of clubs otherwise, were suddenly available for us to sign.
He’s spent a lot of time at Championship clubs, notably Barnsley and Blackpool - and had a spell in league One with Bury. Longest stint was at Mansfield Town, with whom he played against Morecambe 3 times scoring 1 in a 4-0 win at Field Mill.

Exactly, just because they were dressed in red, could have been a mole.

Defender Jacob Bedeau (22 years old) joins on loan from Burnley…. At least I got the first name correct
He has already scored a goal for us - og for Scunny last season. He was picked up by the Clarets at the end of the campaign, having previously been a hot prospect as part of Villas set-up. Interesting to see if he can adapt to League One.
