So far we have 4 players out of the door and 2 new players come in. I will wait until we know if any more players are coming in this week before naming a team. Must say I like to see Gibson in the team but Leigh has also been very good.

Afc Wimbledon have only played 9 league games at home

They haven’t played at home since the 4th December 2021

Would probably go for a return to 4-3-3, I saw that 3-5-2 against Spurs as more of a means to cope with them rather than a system to be continued in the league.

Carson
McLaughlin-AOC-Bedeau-Leigh
McLoughlin-Toums-Wildig
Ayunga-Stockton-Gnahoua

I initially questioned McCalmont's selection ahead of Wildig for the Spurs game (following on from Doncaster), but I think it was spot on as McCalmont had the legs to get around and help cover space when defending against Spurs. But now we're back in the league, I think Wildig's ability in the final third takes priority.

Hopefully we should have a stronger CB partnership with Bedeau in there next to AOC. He was incredibly impressive against Spurs. And Carson should also hopefully offer some improvement in the heart of our defence.

--------------------------Carson------------------------

------------O'Connor - Bedeau - Gibson------------
McLaughlin--------------------------------------Leigh
------------McLoughlin - Toums - Wildig------------

------------------Stockton - Ayunga------------------

These players are quiet versatile, and can perform multiple roles for us. I'd look to start the game solidly, and then change things around if we need to. Tempted to put Cooney on instead of McLaughlin - but despite the latters mistake vs Spurs he has generally been a solid and dependable player for us. Cooney is more attacking, but gives away too many freekicks - Wimbledons speciality, and until now defending them has been a clear weakness for us. Also tempted to go with Delaney instead of Gibbo for this one because of that.

In a 5-3-2/3-5-2 the onus would be on Greg and Ryan to get forward more in this game, and to provide better quality into the box.

Options on the bench:
McCalmont
Jones
Obika
Gnahoua
Cooney
Delaney (who could also benefit with a more capable CB partner)
Letheren

I would go with your line up, other than Cooney to start for exactly the reason you then gave, Cooney is better getting forward and crossing the ball. Two up front with better delivery & creativity which Ryan & Greg can provide. Hopefully that will lead to goals from others, not just Cole.

So how did that work out then?

If we start a back 3, i think Robbo will go for AOC in the middle with Ryan on the right and Bedeau on the left. I can't see him playing 2 left footers or exposing AOC on the flanks.
