Very nearly a second, with O’Connor just nodding it narrowly over.

Good stuff at the moment.

Ayunga is woeful. We should run either 5 - 1 - 3 -1 or 4 - 1 - 4 -1

Bloody hell! Crap defending in the 45th+1 having previously been plating really well. Leigh & Bedeau had been excellent, but suddenly they went completely missing.

Ayunga has been playing well, getting back to cover Leigh when he gets forward. O’Connor has been excellent, in fact, until they defensively switched off, the back four were looking good.

Not much in it between the two teams, despite it being a top v bottom clash.

What a shocking goal to give away. A player unmarked on the right wing, loads of room to put in a cross.
An easy almost tap in. After such a good performance for 45 minutes!
Got to set off the second half on the front foot again.

Given you used pretty much every post last season to say Songo'o was crap and pretty much everything was his fault, I'm going to lump on Ayunga finishing top scorer.

Oh quit your yapping you old fart and stop putting words in my mouth. Songoo was great at the end of last season but when we first signed him he played poorly and Kenyon was doing better than him. Ayunga adds nothing to the team except giving the ball away and crying for a foul every time he loses possession.

The woodwork has been hit at both ends in this second half! I thought Wigan had scored.

The difference in the league positions is beginning to show. We have, and still are playing well, if that makes any sense. But Wigan are really threatening now. Cole hit the post earlier, they hit the crossbar, I thought it was in, but thankfully not.

I didn’t catch the name of the co-commentator, but he really doesn’t like Gibson  Hope he has a cracker now we’ve gone 3-5-2.

It is now. It’s been coming for some time. 1-2 It’s going to take something special to get back into this game now.

As much as it's quite annoying he's bringing it up once every 5 seconds, he is right. Very odd one to bring him on when he'd hardly warmed up, Leigh was fine and the Wigan management spotted it and exploited it.

He keeps going on about the substitution, but we had the physio on the pitch. Greg had a massive injury at the start of the season, so there may be other reasons for taking Leigh off? Liam may have been cold coming on but that only lasts for a few minutes, not the entire half!

Looked like a handball to me, should have been a penalty?

Unlucky tonight, we competed well. The commentator kept on (and on… and on…) about Leigh/Gibson substitution, and he had a point about Gibson not being warmed up, but ten minutes later he was warm! As I say, it MIGHT have been that the knock was where Leigh had been injured earlier in the season, in which case, SR may not have wanted to risk him aggravating it, no matter whether Leigh felt okay? We’d had the physio on to treat him, so he’d have advised the manager too.

The turning point wasn’t the injury/substitution, it was giving away another very soft goal, during time added on in the first half. Go in at 1-0 at half time and it may have been a different game.

Lots of positives against an excellent side. But the games don’t get any easier for a while.

Two teams going in different directions. We just don’t seem to be able to hold it together for 90 minutes.
It changed with the soft goal 45+1 minute. Then after Gregg Leigh was it seems needlessly substituted, Lang ran rings around us. I like most Morecambe fans am clinging on for a change in fortunes, but things are looking grim at the moment.
First half we really seemed to have ‘clicked’, but the obvious class of a team challenging for promotion caught us out.

unlucky, Wigan and Rotherham are the best sides we’ve seen at our place.

lots of positives to suggest we can beat Wycombe this Saturday.

Outstanding performance if they play like that from now till end of season and we are relegated then so be it, but suspect play like that and we stay up..

Absolutely no negativity needed at all. Every one of those lads put in a real shift tonight and deserved more than they got. I thought we did a real number on them tactically and they were nothing but hoof ball merchants. It changed on their substitutions and a system change which caught us out.

Toums put in the best midfield performance by a Morecambe player ever, he was a joy to watch.
