Type Stephen Robinson into twitter and it looks a nailed on move, more and more reports coming out by the minute.
Surely St Mirren is a step down? I thought he wanted to try and crack English football.
Was just to talking to a mate and we think Derek would be a good stop gap until the end of the season but not sure if he is the long term answer.

If this is true, then he must sense that he's not up to it?
The next manager has a job on his hands thats for sure

Very strange decision if he does decide to go. Can only think he's been offered a lot more money or perhaps things behind the scenes aren't quite right.
I'd be surprised if Adams returned after the way he departed but might just be the man to grind out 5-6 wins to keep us in the division.

I'm wondering if he has become frustrated with things behind the scenes like the training facilities etc which was Derek's issue
I wonder if St Mirren got good compensation for their manager that left to go to Aberdeen.
I have also felt that Robbo thinks the Scottish Prem is the same level as league 1 but I don't agree I think it's more bottom of league 1/league 2 standard but to him it might not be a step down.

Once bitten twice shy. If the rumours of Robbo are true, I wouldn't trust D.A. not to walk out again. Reports that Darren Ferguson leaving Peterborough. Would be be any good for us, just curious ?

Derek returning is a no brainer for me. Compo off Bratfud and St Mirren and we end up having our most successful manager ever back.

Generally wouldn't begrudge anyone a move, whether it's manager or player but he's leaving us a bit high and dry if he goes now.
I don't think we parted with Derek on particularly bad terms did we? If Robbo does go then I'd certainly welcome Adams back. Could be the man we need to grind out some results.

And we thought Derek's timing was bad!
I'm pretty sure the board weren't particularly pleased with the way Derek left, so I'm not sure he'd be number one on their list.
I would imagine DOC or Barry to guide us to the end of the season. The board have always taken a sensible approach to choosing a manager and have had a good track record. I trust them to do the same again.

"The Club has reluctantly granted St. Mirren permission to speak to Stephen regarding the position".
"
Reluctantly"? Why not say '
NO'?
The psychological impact upon the players could be massive. Any "
we're all in this together" has proven to be bollocks. If you were a player would you be thinking '
well Robinson thinks we're going down and jumped ship...'
Any optimism I had left has pretty much evaporated.
So much for Robinson saying he was with us for the long haul and to develop the club.

We can not give it to an untried or inexperienced manager, not a chance. We need to get somebody in that knows what they are doing and how to get results. I know some on here don't like Derek because he wouldn't talk to them or he didnt smile but we have just been done over by a smiling, grinning Judas. Give Derek whatever he wants,.get him in tomorrow and lets stay in this league.

Yeah I was surprised by the use of the word reluctantly. Makes me wonder if there's been some conversation about him seeing out the end of the season if he goes or something.

...given that most of us never saw him because fans weren't allowed to attend most games while he was in charge, I'd suggest this is bollocks. However, walking out on us rather than stay and try to develop us did leave a sour taste.
He is however, far more loyal than Robinson proved to be, and clearly, far more successful. Whether he'd get the current players playing in a way that would keep us up, I don't know. If he comes back, then 100% he'd be backed. Right now, we may as well give him the job until the end of the season and see where we are.

Give DA the job on short term brief of keeping us in League 1. Disappointing decision by Stephen Robinson if he leaves. I am unconvinced about his ability as a manager. He signed a number of players not good enough for League 1 and certainly has shown us no loyalty abandoning us at a critical time in our fight for survival in League 1. Signing a 3 year contract didn’t mean anything to him obviously.
