O/T Stop Start car system fault

Anybody had or having problems with their car Stop Start system?

My Vauxhall Crossover's Stop Start system no longer works and the local dealership are unable to find the problem.

There is a suggestion on the web that this is a common fault with such a system even with other make of cars.

It's not an inconvenience but would prefer to make use of the system as before.

I can drive down the motorway to Manchester and then on urban roads and it doesn't work at all.
Next day I can get in and it works at the first traffic light.
Mine is a 69 reg but previous cars of the same make have had the same problem.
Apparently various conditions all have to be met for the computer to allow it. (Well that's the lame excuse I got !)
If it works on a particular trip I look on it as a bonus.
