but why a season ticket holder wouldn't turn up for this game is beyond me apart from the odd exception, illness etc
1. Some people work shifts or have other weekend hobbies/responsibilities so were never going to come to all games - but it was cheaper to buy a ST if they were coming to more than half.
2. Lots of £20 child ST's for people who rarely bring, say, their grandchildren. The couple who always sit directly in front of us only brought their 2 grandchildren once, the other 22 games the 2 seats next to them were empty!
I think the club made a big mistake in making the C,D and E blocks equal re pricing. C used to be higher priced due to access to the suite (not for meals etc, just access to buy a drink/pie & go to the loo. E used to be where the cheap child tickets could be bought. Now (or at least this season), you could buy a £20 child ticket for the C block red seats which must have lost the club a lot of money as previously you couldn't buy a cheap child ticket for the red seats at all.
Raising the price of the child tickets to £70 is a start, but I think the club should revert back to them only being available in the E block, so as to increase revenue (and occupation rates) in the C and D blocks.
In fact, I'd go further and make E block unreserved seating, so have it as a "free for all" first come, first choice basis to reflect the child discounted pricing.
