https://the72.co.uk/272578/cole-stockto ... is-summer/Can't put much credence to this report if its author still thinks that Cole's contract is up this summer....
The sooner we get an extension to Cole's contract the better....

Can't be doing with Alan Nixon and all the "any news on......?" Posts on twitter. He is just Twitters version of Clubcall.

What a shocking shocking report...lazy journalism
The stats are all wrong
Cole still as 1 year left on his contract so not a free agent
Also didn't score 28 league one goals he only scored 23
Maybe the reporter should bloody leave not the players
I'm totally disgusted by the report from start to finish

Journalists eh? Never let the truth get in the way of a (non) story.

Not enough with 1 year of his contract to go. Should get near enough to 1 million.

All enquiries should be told.. naff off...
The fee would be nice but it could be another season were Coke is on form with us but a move away could turn out to be a nightmare. Offer him a significantly better contract as an inducement to stay where he knows he'd be successful.

Whilst the rumours of interest from Rotherham may well be unsubstantiated however, it would be very difficult to match offers on contracts from clubs from a higher league. The millers wage budget was far in excess of Morecambe’s this season, so with over £8m in league funding next season the differential is going to be even greater.
Players have a short career and I think to expect them not to try to maximise there income is unrealistic. Players are quite often very loyal, until somebody is prepared to offer you a significant increase, and with in this instance Cole entering the final year of his contract, clubs, as in the similar case to Sam Lavelle, will see an opportunity that could be difficult for all parties not to pursue

If he went to Rotherham I would have no issue as they are a league higher, I also think Rotherham were one of the teams watching him around Xmas
My issue would be if he went to another league 1 club eg Bolton

TBH anyone but Bolton. That really would add insult to injury. Cole has been brilliant for us. It’s a short career and he deserves a big contract somewhere. We also require a substantial fee and it may take the championship resources of a Rotherham or similar to make it happen.

I'm pretty sure Derek will be working on his squad along the lines of being without Cole Stockton next season.
He has 1 year left on his contract and if the fee is £600,000 then that is an enormous amount that the club just couldn't afford to lose. If we held onto him until January it would be a peanuts fee then.

If Rotherham offer 600k I would snap their hand off
How much did we pay for him ???
Also a club with our resources 600k is massive

It will play out the same as last year with Sam and Carlos. We will offer him a new contract, he will reject and move on. Nobody can begrudge Cole a big move and a better contract.
I would love him to sign a new deal but if the lad can get life changing money elsewhere, we will wish him the best.

If anyone does want him, then it all comes down to what is seen as a fair & reasonable fee? £600k? I'd hope we hold out for more, but how much more? If we get up to about £850k then that's a huge amount of money that can be spent on building the squad to be stronger next season.
On the flip side, if Cole's happy here and it all works for his family life etc, then he may feel a move isn't worth the risk, especially if we offer him a new, long term contract?
If he does move on, I hope Derek gets the funds to sign who he wants. If he stays, great.

Anyone but Bolton
To be honest I doubt we are looking at Cole, I am not saying that at this level he is not quality as clearly he is but not sure he fits into how Evatt wants to play the game and probably 600k would be to high for a player that could spend quite a while on the bench.
Suspect we are expecting a couple of Championship clubs testing us on a couple of players when the season ends.
Lad you might want to look at is a youngster we have just let go, Liam Gordon full back who a lot of us are sorry to see released could have a big future we are just over stocked with full backs as could sign two this week think the jack Iredale signing is done.

I would say most of us are decent family folk, but we do have some proper spanners. I guess you have met some of them
How to Identify a spanner early doors, start a football conversation if they start singing mid sentence then move on.

Spanners are useful! I can think of more suitable words to describe them but it would get deleted. We have had large followings from many clubs this season, Sunderland, Sheff Wed, Ipswich and Wigan all sold out and they were all a welcome addition to the town during their short stay.
Can I just say you had enough 'Spanners' to fill several tool boxes that day and we couldn't wait to see the back of them.
The daft thing is I remember your CEO earlier this season trying to appeal to their better nature to behave, mainly due to the massive security bills Bolton were racking up to pay extra stewards and Police etc'. Would appear that fell on stony ground as there were several subsequent reports of violence and disorder at matches.
Never mind, you could have bought yourself a Cole Stockton with the said monies but as long as your 'Spanners' keep performing you will have to make do with a Dion Charles.

Sharon is doing a sterling job, and they are excluding those that are caught on Camera or arrested at games we tend to attract these morons (Spanners) youngsters in the main but the odd older one.
We are not alone and we see other clubs bring their morons to our place causing mayhem. Fortunately we have really good CCTV around the ground so many can be pulled or dealt with later.
Dion, yes really like him and he fits our way of playing better than I believe Cole could. But, that is just an opinion.

Just reading about thePSG and Mbappè contract offer. Seems that they are offering him ownership of the club as part of his new contract which got me thinking about Cole and his contract. Is there anything we could offer Cole? Profits from the Pies? Lease of JB's?

Rumour is, deal done & everyone happy. £600k & add-ons.
If true, then, fair enough, he's going to a Championship club and the deal is completed early enough that Derek has time to plan. Disappointed, but good luck to Cole, and thanks.

What i find strange about this ...
It says it's undisclosed but then says 600k plus add ons
If Cole does go to Rotherham I will thank him and wish him the best as a championship player
It will also give Derek 10 weeks to bring another striker or two in

Second time this type of post about transfers has appeared on SVs....but can't find any details of the site or any mention elsewhere.
Same type of post in appearance which informed us of signing of Scunny Goalkeeper but couldn't find that neither.....
Very strange....
Until the club confirm or otherwise i remain very suspicious especially as journalist Alan Nixon hasn't posted any rumours or mention of it anywhere...
Both posted by Relapsed Shrimp.....

If he is sold, lets hope it doesn't drag on like Levelle leaving us short as the window closes. £600K and a decent sell on clause is probably the best we can hope for
