Watching the second half of France v Belgium game. I'd have to say that VAR is farcical. The Belgium defender had her arm behind her back, as she turned away from the shot her arm came out and clipped the ball. After an age, the ref was called over and watched, then rewatched it repeatedly, in slow-motion. Eventually, decides it was a handball, therefore a penalty, and a second yellow card.
If we're stuck with VAR, (and obviously, we are) I think they need to return to the original provision and say that it is used for 'clear & obvious' errors. The ref should then get to see it once, at full speed, possibly twice, from a different angle. Replaying an incident over & over, in slow motion, isn't a clear & obvious error.

So how did that work out then?
