Sick-note on the bench.

Hunter gone down after five minutes, not looking good. Off for Fane already.

What's Cooney done to annoy Derek so much? Not even on the bench, yet Love offers nothing more defensively, but can't cross the ball. A good attack wasted when he massively over-hit a pass.

A couple of positive positions for us, Weir inches away from controlling a pass from Obika in Oxford's area, then Gibbo with a shot just over the bar. Oxford had one long range shot, but otherwise, as expected, lots of possession but nothing of concern [yet].

Cooney was awful last season and was out of shape. Love is a much better defender.

Is Taylor really the left wing back or is it Gibbo?

Opinions. I think they are similar defensively, but Cooney more creative going forwards. Apparently he's returned from the summer looking much leaner. Love's pass for Connolly v Fleetwood was sublime, but other than that, his passing isn't great, in my opinion.

Lovely goal for us. Superb play by Fane in the build up and a great strike from Weir.

Theirs was very scruffy, from a corner. Just fell nicely for their lad.

Stockton, already cheaply booked, now being talked to by the ref. If not careful, he'll be sitting most of this game out too. Come on Cole, get head on.

Gibbo off for McLoughlin. Gibbo took a knock a few minutes earlier.

Totally different second half!

Lots of shots coming in from distance for Oxford , presume it’s something Derek doesn’t encourage in the Shrimps training sessions

Is this the same ref as the Fleetwood game??? He was decent in the first half, bizarre & inconsistent in the second.

A decent point away from home. Still need more creativity. One mistake punished, although a superb block from O'Connor to keep it level. At least we've got a point.

Another important point. Certainly no push overs this season. Lets hope things settle down and we can concentrate on the footy rather than all this off field stuff. Our League 1 life has been manic.

Normally a point at Oxford would be a decent result. Bit disappointed though today. Need 3 points next week

Well if that doesn't say we need a new striker I don't know what will. I know they say there is no funds available but I think the club must decide now how important league 1 status is.. let cole go and get somebody new.
