Donald Love

I've been critical of Love, or, more to the point, I thought Cooney was the better player, with similar defensive ability, but better going forwards. Against Burton, he had a nightmare and was totally at fault for their goal. He was rightly dropped and Cooney has done well since.

However, in the two games Love has played since, both in 'unfamiliar' or 'not his preferred' positions, he's played really well. Yesterday, his reading of the game was superb. While everyone had a good game, and I agreed with the sponsors MotM, Love deserved a mention. I still wouldn't drop Cooney, a couple of his crosses were superb, so perhaps Gibson will have a battle to get his position back when he returns? Or, Love will develop in to a defensive midfielder?

Either way, after getting stick, it is great to see Love playing well.

Pains me to have to agree with Keith BUT Love was very good yesterday and I would hope that DA uses him in a more defensive destroyer role when required going forward rather than Fane AFTER the return of Gibson... :?:

I watched him particularly yesterday and he didn't put a foot wrong. He gets stuck in and took his 6th yellow card this season.

Just looking at the form table in the Football League Paper and Morecambe have 11 teams below them and only 1 defeat in last 6 league games. It's the 4 draws in those games that are killing us.

If Stockton continues like he did yesterday when he came on then I think the goals column will increase at a better pace. Maybe he has had second thoughts on our contract offer and realises this is the place where he is most likely to have a successful career.

I wouldn't be surprised if that contract is no longer on the table for Cole, it would have made him the best paid player, if the club is skint like Derek says then could we really afford to pay him those wages?

Plus he doesn't deserve a new contract for his antics this season.

He did OK when he came on on Saturday, but one half decent substitute performance doesn't warrant a new contract, and I still feel like he doesn't want to be here, he will be off in Jan imo. Probably Fleetwood.

He is already receiving the lions share of the increased contract.

If he does leave in January then we have to sign a new striker and they would most likely want something like Cole's new contract as a wage. Better the devil you know as the saying goes.
