If the board had listened to the" Dexiteers " last week ..would we still be at the bottom?

Very true
I'll have a wager that Morecambe stay up and that all the teams that get relegated have made a change in management.
Derek's a quality manager and we are lucky to have him.

Agreed. I would be very happy if the board extend his contract very soon.

I have more faith in Derek achieving the results we need to move up the table than either Stephen Robinson or Jim Bentley.

We had 40% possession today compared with 60% possession for Burton which shows what a pointless statistic that is.

The ones who wanted Derek out the most were the ones shouting the loudest for Jim to stay and happy to drop out of the EFL.

We are very lucky to have a top Manager like Derek and we are lucky to be seeing our club play in League 1. Some of our fans need a reality check.

Missed your bait.

I think Derek knows he will be judged come the end of the season. The two wins have given us believe but there's a lot of football still to play. I reckon we will need 46+ points to survive. Coys

Amazing how quiet it is on here after a 5-0 home win, back to back wins and 7 goals with none conceded. It is almost as if some fans are gutted when we win and do well.

Let's hear it for Deeeeeerek!

I'm campaigning for Derek to be given an extended contract. Better to sort it out now before the end of the season when other clubs may fancy taking him.

I know you like to spout bollocks and twist everything to your own agenda, but the Port Vale, Accrington and Burton threads are all on three pages, and pretty much all the regular posters have expressed their delight at the result of the last two games.

We're at a financial disadvantage in this division, no doubt. But one advantage we can have over more cash rich clubs is the way we back our managers and players and give them opportunities to succeed.

Hire a decent manager and with the right freedom and backing to mould the side how they want it, you'll probably get some decent results. We did it with Robinson, and he started to turn things around before leaving. Despite some angry reactions after Port Vale, I'm sure the board will do the same with Derek.

I don't think Derek's made many really daft or stubborn calls this season. He's tried lots of different formulas to try and get things right and generally been pretty happy to change things up. I do think the Port Vale game should have seen some more decisive subs once they started to take control, but there's been an overreaction to it that has skewed perspectives on the bigger picture.

This current formula has worked nicely for the past couple of games. The Stockton and Phillips partnership has legs as we'd already seen earlier this season, but it now seems we've got the balance in midfield to support it. Gibson really cracking the CDM role of late has been pretty key imo. This 'six defenders' soundbite is a load of rubbish - our 'sixth defender' Gibson in midfield offers far better forward passing ability than actual midfielder Fane. Hopefully this formula can continue to be a success.

Fingers crossed for some decent January additions now, and Hunter coming back will be a massive boost.

Did we not have 8 players out injured earlier this season and it has taken a long time for a small squad to get all of our players back which hopefully is now starting to reap the rewards

Getting Ash Hunter back and firing will be like a new signing as well (if he plays last 15 games or so could make a massive difference)

I managed to get Covid again over the Christmas period and Football fans on a number of forums helped me laugh my way through the milder version this time, whilst isolating.

The get him out of here now thread particularly entertained me.

IMHO I do not think there are many if any Manager's out there who get's Morecambe like DA does, his football is not for everyone but he can get a team at it. And over the last few weeks it has started to pay dividends I am pleased to say.

Whilst you are in the trenches and massively out numbered (budget wise) he is the man to have dragging you kicking and screaming to the finish line.
When we went through our awful years leading to administration, he was the man we should have given the football team to whilst the Financiers got the team back on track.

happy New Year! May Derek keeping driving you forwards.

Happy new year to you.

I'm in agreement , I can't think of anyone who could do the job for us as well as Derek Adams does.

Some of them think we should be playing like Barcelona when we have a budget that is dwarfed by most of the division. Derek is in his own words "weeding out the players he doesn't want" and we are gradually becoming the squad he wants. Hopefully we can hold onto the 4 Loanees that we signed in August and retain Cole Stockton.

I'll say it loudly, I'm DELIGHTED with recent game plans. I hope we stick with it for away games too. I don't agree that Port Vale was an over reaction, the one up front with a huge gulf between defence and the attacker, against a very poor Port Vale was awful, and bringing Connolly on in the 92 minute was bizarre, the kind of thing you do when one goal up and trying to kill the game. To then say we should have won, despite only one attempt on target was justifying the worst performance of the season.

But, since then, we've been playing really well. Gibson is getting better and better. Everyone is working really hard for the team. The way we're first to second balls, and we're creating opportunities for the two up front.

I'm delighted, and hope to remain delighted.
