Wrexham o/t

Has anyone watched the Wrexham documentary?

Interestingly in the first year they said the wage bill was going to be £1.5million which I didn't think was too crazy, it's probably just a touch more than ours. However then January came and it looked like they were going to blow the budget out of the water and it might increase by another £1million.

I think Mullin is on a league 1 wage but in one episode some of the other players says "I bet Mullin pays more in tax than what my whole wage is" so I think they have a couple of big earners but the rest are on average money.

Liam McAlinden seems to be doing ok for them he seems to get mentioned a lot in the highlights for making assists and lots of crosses into the box.

They also mention that every year they are in the national league they are probably on track to loose £1million but if promoted the EFL payments will be around £1million so then they would break even.

They'll only break even in League Two, if they don't increase their wages further, chasing promotion to League One... ...so they'll lose another million next season too!

Mind you, their FA Cup run will have helped.

Indeed but I suppose the hope is you throw money to get out of that league and your team should then be able to hold it's own in League 2.

That's always been the case even when we were down there teams throwing silly money about just to get the 1 promotion spot.

Aspirations of Premier League football one day at Wrexham...but could get an awakening if and when they get promoted to the EFL.

Also Shaun Harvey why do I get a bad feeling about him was he the guy that is responsible for the changes to the Papa Johns Trophy and wanted to bring the B teams in? He was at Bradford & Leeds I'm wondering if he was at both clubs when they got into financial difficulties.
